Preservar a memória de Limeira e desenvolver atividades educativas são os objetivos do Museu Histórico e Pedagógico “Major José Levy Sobrinho”, reinaugurado nesta segunda-feira, 27 de junho. O local abriga quadros, reproduções e objetos que marcaram a história de Limeira, como uma liteira do século 19 e a farda completa de um combatente da Revolução de 1932.

O Museu funciona no “Centro Cultural Coronel Flamínio Ferreira de Camargo”, prédio que abriga a Escola Municipal de Cultura e Artes “Maestro Mario Tintori” (Emcea), o Acessa São Paulo e o Conselho Municipal dos Interesses do Cidadão Negro (Comicin). Tem quatro salas voltadas à exposição, uma sala para atividades educativas e um espaço para exposições temporárias.

Para facilitar a visitação, o museu foi dividido em áreas temáticas, são elas: A fundação da cidade, O Movimento Constitucionalista de 1932, A Citricultura e a figura do Major José Levy Sobrinho, Transformações Urbanas, Cultura e Lazer e A criação da Unicamp. Sobre o período de fundação da cidade, a gerente do Museu, Ana Terezinha Carneiro Naleto, afirmou que o público terá acesso a informações sobre o processo de transferência dos moradores das fazendas para a área urbana. “Nessa época surgiram vários ofícios em Limeira”, comentou.

O local dispõe de um monitor de vídeo que mostra imagens antigas e atuais das principais edificações da cidade, como o Palacete Levy, o coreto da praça Toledo Barros, a sede da antiga prefeitura, entre outros. Ana Terezinha conta que apenas uma parte do acervo – composto por 3.800 itens – ficará exposta. “A ideia é renovar a exposição permanente a cada três anos”, afirmou.

A família Levy foi uma das que contribuíram para a formação do acervo do Museu, doando a mobília completa do quarto que hospedou o Imperador Dom Pedro 2º, quando ele ficou hospedado na Fazenda Ibicaba, que pertencia ao Senador Vergueiro. “Os móveis foram feitos sob encomenda e têm até brasão”, frisou o representante da família, Paulo Masuti Levy.

A Fazenda Ibicaba foi posteriormente comprada pela família Levy, que também cedeu uma espécie de carro a vapor, na verdade, um motor usado para impulsionar máquinas agrícolas. O objeto ficará exposto na parte externa do Museu, na praça Cel. Flamínio Ferreira de Camargo, que foi revitalizada e também entregue à população nesta segunda. “A presença de um museu histórico e pedagógico é importante para preservar a história de uma cidade. Um povo sem memória não tem futuro”, destacou Levy.

O prefeito Paulo Hadich ressaltou os esforços para reabrir o museu. “Foi um trabalho que atravessou toda a minha gestão e que estamos concluindo nesse momento. Será um importante espaço de pesquisa e estudo”, frisou. O museu tem o apoio cultural do Arquivo Central do Sistema de Arquivos da Unicamp (Siarq – Unicamp); Centro de Memória/Unicamp; Grupo Engep; e Instituto Cultural “Cássio de Freitas Levy”.

Para o diretor do Sistema Estadual de Museus, Davidson Panis Kaseker, a presença de um museu na cidade já é um fato histórico. “É um patrimônio que representa a história da cidade. Como equipamento cultural contemporâneo, é importante para estimular a discussão sobre os problemas que a população convive na atualidade”, afirmou.

O aspecto de ‘museu vivo’ foi enfatizado pela secretária de Cultura, Gláucio Bilatto. “Esse projeto foi feito com muito carinho por muitas mãos. É um patrimônio de toda a cidade. Espero que ele seja visitado por toda a população”, disse. O museu ficará aberto para visitas escolares, instituições e grupos de terceira idade, de terça a sexta-feira, das 9h às 16h.
