The today’s Altenburger Land had been Slavic since the early Middle Ages. Sorbian tribes lived on farming and cattle breeding here. That changed in the middle of the 12thcentury when the Swabian Staufer expanded their influence to these areas. Emperor Friedrich I Barbarossa safeguarded his gained rule by knighting previous serves, the ministerial officials. They should lead new settlements, force back existing Slavic influences, effect German law, collect taxes and protect the land against enemies. So a network of small reinforcements resulted. Posterstein Castle is one of them.

First mentioning of Posterstein Castle
The first mentioning of the fortress known itself until the 16th century as ‘Stein’(rock), can be documented for the year 1191 when the ministerial official Gerhardus de Nubodicz and his mother ‘Mechthilde de Steinne’
were mentioned in a Naumburg document.

Posterstein between the Reußen and the Wettiner

Since the beginning of the 14th century, the by that time very strong dynasty of the Reußen which had expanded its holdings all the way through the Pleißenland, is documented a feudal lord over Posterstein and until the 17th century, the Wettiner dynasty and the Reußen fought over Posterstein.

Only with its diminishing importance in the 18th century did this end. In 1305, at the time when the dynasty of the Reußen split into the older Reuß line (in Plauen) and the younger Reuß line (in Greiz), Posterstein remained under the domain of the younger line.

The ‘Postern zum Steine’ in military service

In 1442 Heinrich, Nickel und Ulrich Stöncz and their mother sold Posterstein with all the equipment to the Puster family. Duke Ernst, elector of Saxony asked Jan Puster together with all the other rulers to do military service. He called him according to the language usage of the time ‘Postern zum Steine’ – indicating how the village Posterstein got its name in the 16th century.

A bishop joints the possession of Posterstein

In 1528 Nickel von Ende sold (Poster)stein to his cousins Julius, Haubold, Tham, Andreas and Christoph von Pflugk.. Julius (1499-1564) worked in Christian churches (later bishop in Naumburg). Haubold Pflugk (1502-1563) managed to secure and expand the property rights. In 1575 Tham Pflugk got Posterstein. After quarrels with the Church of Nöbdenitz he was forced to have his own church in Posterstein built.

Posterstein’s most important Lords
Between 1600 an 1621 the Saxon chamberlain Georg von Pflugk d.Ä. was able to stabilize the manor .Later the fortress was remodelled andthe adjacent chapel was adorned with baroque carvings. Not only left the Pflugk familiy their coat of arms in the carvings of the church but a small town with tradesmen and the right to hold markets had also developed below the fortress.

A hidden escape route?
A staircase hidden by a cupboard in the courtroom led to the top floor, the kitchen, the yard, the lower hall and from there to the cellar. It was possibly an escape route in those days.

Hans Fallada as ‘Student’ on the Manor

After a few ownership changes, in 1833 the middle class Herrmann family acquired the knight’s castle Posterstein. Walter Herrmann(1871-1927) developed it into a unique seed breeding and
model farm in Thuringia. The later well-known writer Hans Fallada

Posterstein was not destroyed during both World Wars. Nevertheless the Second World War ended with most serious changes up to now: The feudalistic structure stopped existing. At the beginning of the year 1946 with the implementation of the land reform in Thuringia the 192 hectars large manor was dispossessed, the base area split up and the utility buildings partly torn. The last landowner Kurt Herrmann (1905-1986) was deported and forced to live in West Germany. The family grave is still to be seen at the east side of the chapel.

The time after

After the end of the war refugees, who had lost all their possessions in the east, found accommodation in the castle and manor house. Later the manor house became a children’s home and the castle a museum.

Degradação do Museu Regional do Huambo, Angola.

O alcance desse ato.”

On April 9, 1914, a woman identified sometimes as Clara Lambert entered the British Museum in London, and attacked with a hatchet carrying concealed several showcases of Asian hall, causing partial destruction of an ancient porcelain tea set Chinese. It was not an isolated act. Other women at the same time attacked and damaged works of art in other British museums, destroyed shop windows, threw acid in mailboxes and cut wires of communication systems, among other acts that in Brazil today would be called pure vandalism. However, were not acts of pure vandalism. These women were part of an organized political movement that fought and finally won the right of women's suffrage. In England, the right to vote was obtained for all women over 21 years only in 1928.

These women were known as suffragettes, and are the subject of a feature-length movie now in theaters, The Suffragettes (2015), Sarah Gavron, which by the way does not even mention the symbolic and espetaculosos attacks on works of art (read review here) . The suffrage movement also echoed in Rio de Janeiro, then capital of the Republic, and resulted in the right of women's suffrage in Brazil in 1932.

Among the artists who have works attacked in England are Giovanni Bellini, George Frederic Watts and Diego Velázquez. Venus painting the Mirror (1647-1651), Velazquez, suffered seven butcher knife blows, brandished the bare back of the goddess by Mary Richardson, in the National Gallery in London, on March 10, 1914 (the image of the work damaged is the cover of this edition deselect). "Justice is an element of beauty, as are the color and the trace on the screen," said Richardson, who defined the trademarks of their hits as "hieroglyphs" with POTENTIAL to express something for future generations.

The Royal Academy, the Royal Academy Scottisch, Dare Gallery, Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery and especially the Manchester Art Gallery are other institutions affected by militant fury. Until an Egyptian mummy had to showcase attacked the British Museum. In this case, one does not know the sex of the mummy, which remained intact. Perhaps the mummy was not the target, but the fact of being in a British museum.

To identify these women and prevent new attacks, Scotland Yard acquired his first camera, to which the suffragettes, photographed against their will, reacted with closed eyes and puckered mouths. Today, photos are part of the collection of the National Portrait Gallery in London.

A tea set is never just a tea set, note the visual artist Carla Zaccagnini, author of a facility that is being presented in the MASP and the São Paulo Museum titled as Feminist Stories. In short, the installation of Carla Zaccagnini, in the museum's basement mezzanine, show the outlines of the works attacked by suffragettes in real size in the case of the information available, or only numbering. Beyond the fenced grounds, visitors will have access to 29 audios to listen to iPods provided by the museum. Lasting between 48 seconds 2min59s each for a total of just over an hour of recording, Carla and Naomi Jaffe writer take turns telling stories of the time, the details of attacks, arrests, processes, defenses and who it was the women who carried out these stories and provide information on the situation of women and speculate on the thematic choices of attack works. The text and narration are more than interesting.

"I was studying crimes related to art, vandalism, forgery and theft, because I interested in these times when the relationship with art goes beyond what society permits," said Zaccagnini in an interview. "What temna art that makes people suddenly bother with either an image about to play acid? They carry a naarte belief that seems very fascinating. "

Among the stories, Zaccagnini remember that cháera an imperial product of England, collected by colonial hands. While the populace followed the rule of the milk first, serving cold milk before Docha hot to not crack a slut dishes, the "right circles" served tea first as a symbol of distinction, since its porcelain superior resist.

"Many of the works they attacked represent women, some are naked women, other women are in a moment of prayer, playing an instrument or reading. Women in social roles accepted at that time, or mythological characters whose existence is defined in terms of a male role. Imagine someone enters a museum with a escondidana knife sleeve, a knife, an ax, and then arrives in front of a painting, let this deal slip to the hand and design the body in relation to the painting, it all has a certain with respect to the body that is very powerful and queo book Elements of Beauty (artist's book, 2012) laid aside. That's when I thought about doing this installation, a drawing space that occupy these objects if they were exposed here. This design gives the volume of the notion that it had. The scope of this act. "

The Museum Of Endangered Sounds ... I launched the site in January of 2012 as a way to preserve the sounds made famous by my favorite old technologies and electronics equipment.

The Museum Of Endangered Sounds is owned and operated by me, Brendan Chilcutt

For instance, the textured rattle and hum of a VHS tape being sucked into the womb of a 1983 JVC HR-7100 VCR. As you probably know, it's a wonderfully complex sound, subtle yet unfiltered. But, as streaming playback becomes more common in the US, and as people in developing nations like Canada and the UK get brought up to DVD players, it's likely that the world will have seen and heard the last of older machines like the HR-7100. And as new products come to market, we stand to lose much more than VCRs.

Imagine a world where we never again hear the symphonic startup of a Windows 95 machine. Imagine generations of children unacquainted with the chattering of angels lodged deep within the recesses of an old cathode ray tube TV. And when the entire world has adopted devices with sleek, silent touch interfaces, where will we turn for the sound of fingers striking QWERTY keypads? Tell me that. And tell me: Who will play my GameBoy when I'm gone?

These questions and more led me to the undertaking that is The Museum Of Endangered Sounds.

My ten-year plan is to complete the data collection phase by the year 2015, and spend the next seven years developing the proper markup language to reinterpret the sounds as a binary composition.

If you don't understand my passion and the significance of my work, you probably never will. But if you do, then you've come to the right place.

And please, please email me if you enjoy the museum or have any questions! I love to hear from people and need to know what gadget sounds I am missing.

I founded the Peleus Research Team at Chattanooga State Community College as a freshman. I have eight gerbils. When I am not collecting sounds my hobbies include video games, information web design, and thai yoga. My middle name is Charles, after Charles I of England, who was executed in 1649.

“Vale a pena reformar.

Ela acompanhou a vida do museu desde o início e diz “achar bonito” o trabalho.
