Historical Museum of Serbia
Historical Museum of Serbia museum of a complex type whose task is to preserve and to communicate to the public with national historical heritage. It was founded in 1963.

Pursuant to the Decision on establishing the jurisdiction of the museum by type of artistic and historical works and to the territory, the Historical Museum of Serbia is responsible for the artistic-historical works of significance for the history of Serbia, and to arms and military equipment from the late Middle Ages, uniforms, flags, signs, Memorials and memorial objects related to important figures and events, maps, plans and atlases, economic and technical material factory production, stamps, posters, photos and postcards sadržine.Istorijski historical museum also performs the tasks of protection of immovable property and other items of special significance for the history and culture of the Serbian people who are abroad, and to - Hilandar, Hungary, Romania to Trieste, and more recently Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Today, the museum has 25 collections of over 35,000 items.

The museum has a permanent publication -Zbornik the Historical Museum of Serbia, whose first editions (1954-1965) emerged at the Museum of the First Serbian Uprising. The bulletin is issued annually, and publishes articles, discussions, studies, presentations of exhibitions and books, as well as other contributions from the history, culture, museology. Also, the Museum has published a number of very significant special editions, such as Valtrović i Milutinović 1-3, field materials, documents and interpretations of contemporary researchers about the importance of their work on the constitution of discipline protection of cultural heritage in Serbia, Album Fruska Gora, Topčider - Palace of prince Milos Obrenovic, Museums as places of reconciliation, Proceedings of the 8th conference of the International association of historical museums held in Belgrade in 2008, and so on.
For outstanding contribution to the development of culture in the Republic of Serbia and Serbian cultural space museum in 1997 got Vuk's Award.
