--- Graceland, Elvis museum in the United States, will own hotel

Bar and Grill.

Graceland, Elvis museum in the United States, will own hotel

Establishment will have 450 rooms, swimming pool and theater gold plated

Elvis Presley dreamed of building a guest house on his Graceland estate to friends who visited him in Memphis. Presley never saw his dream come true, but her fans can see.

The "Guest House" at Graceland is a six-story hotel with 450 rooms and will open its doors on 27 October. The exterior, with columns, arches and a porch, evokes the feeling of a typical comfortable colonial house South of the US, but the interior design and the facilities are modern.

Presley died on August 16, 1977 and Graceland turned into a museum five years later. Priscilla Presley, former wife of singer and cares for his legacy, said the singer had made plans to build a guest house on site even in 1960.

"This luxury hotel is the most significant improvement to Graceland since it opened in 1982," said Priscilla.

Colors associated with the King

When the hotel opened, room rates will range from $ 149 for basic suites, up to $ 1,300 for the most expensive suite. The location allows Elvis fans to stay within walking distance of Graceland and other tourist attractions across the street.

The hotel is still under construction, but the colors associated with the king are already present, with much gold. Carpets and hallways have purple and gold tones, as well as the lighting in the theater of 464 seats. Elvis pictures are hanging in the rooms.

The circular lobby is lit by natural light through large windows. The lobby ceiling has shaped mirrors elongated hexagons. The gray and purple carpet is decorated with a geometric pattern.

The Lobby Lounge is the location of the restaurant's name, with indoor and outdoor tables. There is also a bar, S.E. Bar and Grill. From the lobby, you can reach another restaurant that will feature locally sourced produce and a breakfast buffet.

The property also includes a pool, increasing the feeling of "resort".

"It's really very beautiful, subtle, contemporary and elegant," said Priscilla Presley. "I think our customers will be very happy"

MUSEOS: EL PODER DEL JUEGO (I)- · en CULTURA, DIDÁCTICA PARA NIÑOS, INSTITUCIONES, MUSEO, OPINIÓN. VIEW。 · --- MUSEUMS: THE POWER OF PLAY (I) - · in CULTURE TEACHING CHILDREN, INSTITUTIONS, MUSEUM, VIEW. ·

MUSEUMS: THE POWER OF PLAY (I) - · in CULTURE TEACHING CHILDREN, INSTITUTIONS, MUSEUM, VIEW. ·

Virtually all children around the world play. The action of playing is so intense that children are able to do even without actual toys; They play even though some parents are not actively involved in the game with them; They play, even in the middle of a war zone, as unfortunately now in Syria and elsewhere in the world.

For a child or young child, running and jumping, research and build, it is very funny. Researchers and educators know that these recreational activities benefit the development of the child through social domains, and cognitive, physical and emotional stimuli.

In fact, the game is so fundamental to the healthy development of a child that the American Academy of Pediatrics (Ginsburg, 2007) published a white paper on the subject component, the National Association for the Education of Young Children (2009) valued it as the central component in developmentally appropriate educational practices, and elAlto United Nations Commissioner on Human Rights (1989) he recognized the game as a fundamental right of all children in the world.

Farm 4

However, even though experts continue to put strong arguments for the importance of play in children's lives, the actual playing time continues to decline. Today, children play eight hours less each week than their counterparts two decades (Elkind, 2008) ago.

Under the pressure of rising educational levels and endless school extracurricular activities, the game is being replaced by school preparation in kindergartens and primary schools. Many parents aim to give their preschoolers a competitive edge over others, and offer them educational "toys" as a path to success. In our society it has created a false dichotomy between what is play and what is learning.

Ale Poiré

During these days (except Friday) we will give an overview of what scientific research points on the educational philosophy of the game, collecting ideas about it, focusing on the child, including its social aspect, the aim of the game, physical environment, and the study of behavior. Through play, children learn to regulate their behavior, lay the foundation for later learning in science and mathematics, they get to understand the complex negotiations on social relationships, build a repertoire of skills to solve problems creatively, and more . Finally, this reflection we will start today, aims to also address the important role adults play in guiding children from playful learning.

Tyler Finck

Apart from the fact that adults can identify intuitively what "game" (Smith & Vollstedt, 1985), full consensus on a formal definition of the term, is "facing" researchers and theorists who study it. Definitions vary. We found scattered descriptions of different types of play: The physical game, building game, games of language, or symbolic play (Miller & Almon, 2009), and lists of broader criteria, based on observations and attitudes that are designed to capture the essence of all behaviors of the game (Burghardt, 2011; Rubin, Fein and Vandenberg, 1983).

Trez Trez bon

Game Continuum

Most contemporary definitions of the game focus on several key criteria. The founder of the National Institute for Play, Stuart Brown, described the game as "anything that spontaneously done for the enjoyment of everyone."

More specifically, he says that "it seems pointless, produces pleasure and joy, [and] leads us to the next stage of knowledge" (quoted in Tippett, 2008). Similarly, Miller and Almon (2009) say that the game includes "activities which are chosen freely and are led by children, arising from an intrinsic motivation" (p. 15). Often the game is defined as an action of "continuum" more or less playful, from a set of criteria and behaviors in each person (Krasnor and Pepler, 1980; Rubin, Fein and Vandenberg, 1983):

The game is enjoyable: Children should enjoy the activity, if not, is not a game.

The game is intrinsically motivating: Children participate in their games simply for pleasure satisfaction in itself entails. It has no extrinsically motivating some goal or function.

The game is a spontaneous process: When children play, the means are more important than the ends.

The game is freely chosen: It is spontaneous and voluntary. If a child is depressed, probably no longer you think of that activity imposed as a game.

The game is an intense activity: Players must be physically and / or mentally involved in the game activity.

The game is not literal: It is also about creating fantasy.

This is colossal

According to this view, the play behaviors of children vary from 0 to 100%. Behavior that meets three of the above criteria is considered more playful than one that meets only two, although a degree of playful behavior is recognized even if two criteria are met.

Rubin and his colleagues do not assign greater weight to any of the dimensions in determining satisfaction in the game; however, other researchers have suggested that the orientation of the process and the lack of functional purpose of the game may be the most important to value (Pellegrini, 2009) aspects.

The Academy NY

From the perspective of a continuous process (continuum), the game can be mixed with other motives and attitudes that are less playful, as is work. Unlike the game, work is not usually seen as pleasant and also extrinsically motivated (ie, is oriented as a goal to get something).

The researcher Joan Goodman (1994) suggested that the hybrid forms of work and play are not a detriment to learning; rather, he says, they can provide optimal learning contexts. For example, a child may be involved in a difficult activity, aimed at a target set by his teacher, being engageable to this activity actively and intrinsically motivating. At this midpoint between play and work, the child's motivation, along with adult guidance, they can create strong opportunities for playful learning.

Dolce Press

The role of free play and guided play

Fundamentally, recent research supports the idea that adults can facilitate the learning of children, maintaining a playful approach in interactions known as "guided game" (Fisher, Hirsch-Pasek, Golinkoff, Singer, and Berk, 2011; Hirschman Pasek, Golinkoff, Berk, & Singer, 2009). The guided game also relates to a continuum, as adults participate in it and create the necessary climate playful. The role of the adult in the game varies depending on their educational objectives and the level of development (Hirsch-Pasek et al, 2009).

Flickr

The guided game can occur in two ways. At a very basic level, adults can enrich the child's environment, providing objects or experiences that promote educational aspects. In the most direct form of guided play, parents or other adults can organize games for children and join the fun as a co-player, making thoughtful questions, talking about the discoveries made by children, encouraging further exploration or new facets of the child's activity (Fisher et al., 2011).

Although playful learning can be somewhat structured and facilitated by adults should also be (Nicolopolou, McDowell, and Brockmeyer, 2006) focused on the child. The game should come from own desire and will of the child.

letter Cult

From the point of view of the museum, both free play and guided, they are essential elements for a fun-centered learning approach children. Intrinsically, the motivation that the free play offers the child is that of autonomy, while the guided game is a way for parents and educators to provide more specific learning experiences.

In either case, the game must be active, thinking in children and, importantly, should be fun. For them, therefore, the museum should be fun.
