Governor Paulo Câmara will inaugurate today the Museum and Craft House of the Historical Center of Igarassu, in the Metropolitan Region of Recife. With a total investment of R $ 1.8 million, the two areas were reclassified through resources from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). According to the Executive Branch, the attractions will contribute to preserving the city's fallen site, as well as providing adequate and quality spaces for visitors.
The new Casa do Artesanato has exhibition and sale areas of local production, which will receive pieces of 70 craftsmen and four masters. The building will also house the Cultural Association of Artisans of Igarassu, the Tourist Service Center and rooms for holding offices and courses, curatorships and meetings, among other items. For the reform were invested R $ 889 thousand. The restoration included the construction of a new building, landscaping project and leisure area and installation of circuit monitoring cameras.
The renovation of the Historical Museum, aimed at offering the visitor "a more dynamic, comfortable and educational experience", included the installation of roofing, electrical and hydrosanitary structures, floors, bathrooms, elevators, handrails and landscaping. R $ 935 thousand were invested. According to the state, the renovation has made the museum a higher quality attraction, as it provides information needed to immerse the tourist in the historical context.
Founded in 1535, just over three decades after the discovery of Brazil. Igarassu played a role in the beginning of the settlement of the Northeast and holds an important historic home. In the city is the Church of Cosme and Damião, the oldest catholic temple in operation in the country. .

O governador Paulo Câmara vai inaugurar hoje o Museu e a Casa do Artesanato do Centro Histórico de Igarassu, na Região Metropolitana do Recife. Com investimento total de R$ 1,8 milhão, os dois espaços foram requalificados mediante recursos do Banco Interamericano de Desenvolvimento (BID). Segundo o Poder Executivo, as atrações contribuirão para preservar o sítio tombado da cidade, além de oferecer espaços adequados e de qualidade aos visitantes.
A nova Casa do Artesanato tem áreas de exposição e venda da produção local, que receberão peças de 70 artesãos e quatro mestres. O prédio também vai abrigar a Associação Cultural dos Artesãos de Igarassu, o Centro de Atendimento ao Turista e salas para realização de oficias e cursos, curadorias e reuniões, entre outros itens. Para a reforma foram investidos R$ 889 mil. O restauro incluiu a construção de um novo prédio, projeto de paisagismo e área de lazer e instalação de circuito de câmeras de monitoramento.
Já a requalificação do Museu Histórico, voltada a oferecer ao visitante “uma experiência mais dinâmica, confortável e educativa”, incluiu a instalação de coberta, estruturas elétricas e hidrossanitárias, piso, banheiros, elevador, corrimãos e paisagismo. Foram investidos R$ 935 mil. Segundo o estado, a reforma tornou o museu uma atração de maior qualidade, já que fornece informações necessárias à imersão do turista no contexto histórico.
Fundado em 1535, pouco mais de três décadas após o descobrimento do Brasil. Igarassu teve papel no início do povoamento do Nordeste e guarda um importante casario histórico. Na cidade fica a Igreja de Cosme e Damião, o mais antigo templo católico em funcionamento no país.
