Silicon Valley is no longer a physical place and has become a "way of thinking." Whoever says there, for example, that the next generation will live at least 120 years, because of advances in health.

The largest hotel in the world, it owns no room. The largest passenger transport company, it does not even have a car. A football team, which has no players and coach, sold all their tickets for the entire season. A university that has no teachers. Stores totally operated by robots. Cars driving alone. Fuel stations without ... fuel! This is not futuristic, it's the reality in Silicon Valley.

Airbnb, Uber, San Francisco Deltas, 42 University, Beam Store, Tesla ... these are just a few companies set up in Silicon Valley that are rewriting history and changing the way we live.

Anyone who immerses in Silicon Valley has the distinct impression of making a trip to the future. Silicon Valley has ceased to be a physical place, a region, and has become a "way of thinking."

The major innovations of the last decades were born in this region, as well as the most valuable companies in the world. But that was just the tip of the iceberg. Even deeper changes will happen and Silicon Valley will continue to dictate the pace of what will come in the future.

Sectors such as education, finance, health and agribusiness will be directly impacted and major disruptions will arise in these markets, opening possibilities for startups to create totally innovative business models. Whoever says there, for example, that the next generation will live at least 120 years, because of advances in health. And that soon, you will be able to access the internet through your thinking (!).

If you want to live a fantastic experience of learning, networking and mindset change, get to know the Silicon Valley Learning Experience, a program developed by StartSe and led by Maurício Benvenutti, author of the bestseller Unrelenting.

Pink Floyd wins unpublished retrospective at the Victoria & Albert Museum. --- Pink Floyd ganha retrospectiva inédita no Victoria & Albert Museum.

"Their Moral Remains" will be a visual and sensory immersion in the universe of one of the biggest bands in the history of music.

Known for its vast collection of over 2.3 million fixed objects, the Victoria & Albert Museum in London is the largest museum of decorative arts and design. His exhibits, such as David Bowie Is, move mountains and bring visitors from all over the world to closely check out impeccable curatorship. Longing for a grandiose homage to the music industry, such as Bowie's, they can already celebrate. On May 13, 2017, the English museum inaugurated The Pink Floyd Exhibition: Their Moral Remains, entitled to instruments used by musicians, clothing, illustrations, concert posters and other documents never seen before. The exclusive retrospective celebrates 50 years since the release of Pink Floyd's first single, Arnold Layne.

The audiovisual immersion will contemplate all the universes explored by the British band with its progressive rock. Besides psychedelia, of course, that will be taken into account with sensory experiences. Michael Cohl and Iconic Entertainment Studios still marks the first collaboration, after decades, between former members Nick Mason, Roger Waters and David Gilmour (recalling that Syd Barrett and Richard Wright passed away in 2006 and 2008, respectively).

After more than 200 million albums sold, the Victoria & Albert Museum's intention for Pink Floyd could not be anything else: the celebration of the band's cultural contribution since 1960. Not to mention the other artistic influences influenced by their creations, musically speaking, The members of Pink Floyd made history by using equipment and experimenting with new ways with the psychedelic movement.

The azimuth coordinator (pictured above), panoramic control of the quadriphone system (stereo 4.0), was one of them. The object is able to simultaneously coordinate four sound outputs scattered throughout a space (in this case, the 1967 Queen Elizabeth Hall show). The band was the first to use this sound output system, controlled at the time by keyboardist Richard Wright. The cost of using and handling it was high, so it fell into disuse and eventually became what we know as Surround System. The original version, the same as the photo, was stolen in the 67 show, but was recovered by Victoria & Albert, who will make the play available during the show.

As previously mentioned, the former members also participated in countless other artistic derivations, which, even, are part of its vast semiotic collection. The presence of iconic images, such as the flying pig on the Animals cover, the faces of The Division Bell and the Dark Side of the Moon triangle / prism, both created by the artist artist Storm Thorgerson, are part of our daily lives until the days of today. Hard not to recognize one of the covers, right? Not to mention the presence of Pink Floyd in festivals that amplified its repercussion in addition to musicians. Like the UFO, underground club of artists founded in the 60s by John Hopkins who mixed shows with poetry readings, theater and art exhibitions.

History is not missing to be told in this exhibition. With more than 350 available, many exclusive objects, The Pink Floyd Exhibition: Their Mortal Remains is a true and resounding tribute to the band. After all, after all the achievements and achievements of musicians, less could not be. We look forward to the exhibition landing in Brazil, like David Bowie's.

Pink Floyd ganha retrospectiva inédita no Victoria & Albert Museum.

Pink Floyd

Caretos de Podence querem ser Património da Humanidade, no Inventário Nacional do Património Cultural Imaterial. --- Podetos Caretos want to be a World Heritage Site, in the National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Carthesians of Podence want to be a World Heritage Site.

Candidature advances within a month, after the Government has registered the "Carnival Party of Caretos de Podence" in the National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

The ancestors Caretos de Podence, emblematic masked of the Transmontano Carnival, received this Wednesday the news that was missing for the candidacy to World Heritage, which should be formalized within a month.
The Portuguese Government has registered the "Carnival Party of the Caretos de Podence" in the National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage, a decision published today in Diário da República and awaited "for some time" in the region, because it is decisive to request international recognition.

"It is a very important day, a news that we have been waiting for some time," said António Carneiro, president of the Association of Caretos de Podence and one of those responsible for revitalizing this genuine and ancestral tradition that was practically extinct. Last 20 years, has taken the region beyond the borders.

According to Paula Araújo da Silva, the director of the General Directorate for Cultural Patrimony points out that for the decision to inventory this ritual, "the importance of this manifestation of intangible cultural heritage as a reflection of the identity of the community in which this tradition Originated and practiced ".

The protection also highlights the "historical depth and evident relationship with homologous festive practices, characteristic of the Trasmontano Northeast" and "the technical and scientific importance of the request for inventory, which updates in-depth research, developed over several Years using methods and techniques in the field of anthropology. "

Enrollment in the inventory is also a way of safeguarding this tradition, as it comes under the supervision of the guardianship.

"The Careto de Podence is the only one that rattles"
The demented Podede Caretos, with colorful and fluffy facts, iron or tin masks, waist rattles and a stick to support the outrages, are known for the noisy demonstrations and now want to be heard by UNESCO, the United Nations Organization for Education, Science and Culture.

António Carneiro guarantees that all the work done to "submit, until March 21", the candidature for Intangible Heritage of Humanity. The ambition is, "in 2018, to make the feast of elevation."

The path is done and "only the English translation" is missing from the dossier that will be submitted for UNESCO's analysis.

In all the region of Trás-os-Montes there are Caretos, but those of Podence are distinguished from the rest by the rattle.

"Careto de Podence is the only one that rattles," he says. It rattles girls in a ritual associated with fertility and announces the change from winter to spring.

Hence the name of the party is "Entrudo Chocalheiro", the one that closes the winter parties in the Northeast Transmontano and that is named "the most genuine Portuguese carnival", without samba, to the rhythm of the tradition and during four days.

Twelve thousand expected in Podence

The decision of the Portuguese Government comes a few days after the party that fills the long weekend of Carnival, between February 25 and 28, with about half a hundred Caretos loose in the streets of Podence.

The village with 180 inhabitants is invaded by "10 to 12 thousand" curious who arrive from various points of Portugal, Spain, Italy, France, according to António Carneiro.

The president of the association Caretos indicated that from Paris is scheduled to depart an airplane with 50 people, emigrants from the village who make a point of participating in the ritual and who have already exchanged Christmas holidays for Carnival.

There are more and more interested in masking Caretos and this is a possible experience for anyone during the Chocalheiro, which will also provide parallel activities such as walking tours, the tavern rounds, exhibitions and the launch of two books on this tradition.

The most emblematic masked ones of the traditions transmontanas have represented Portugal in international events with presence in 10 countries.

One of the most recent trips abroad was to Macau, where they participated in 2015 in commemorations of the transfer of the Portuguese administration to China.

The numismatic plan of the National Press-House of the Currency (INCM), presented at the beginning of the year, is expected to issue the "Portuguese Ethnography" dedicated to the Podetos Caretos.
