Are you ready for the Guerrilla Girls? American collective has been in action for gender equality and race in art since 1985 and has individual exhibition unpublished in Brazil from September, 2017.

The Guerrilla Girls use as pseudonyms the names of artists who made history, such as Frida Kahlo, Paula Modersohn-Becker and Rosalba Carriera. The name of the collective created in 1985 in New York, which means "Girls of the Guerrilla", sounds like "gorilla" in the American accent, which partly justifies the use of masks of primates by the members.

(Guerrilla Girls // Are you ready for the Guerrilla Girls? / Disclosure)

Masked and organized, women have already made interventions in the world's most important museums. The first appearance, in the 80's, questioned: "Women need to be naked to enter the Met. Museum? ".

The placement of the guerrillas is as relevant as it was 30 years ago. At the time, only 5% of the artists exhibited in the New York museum were women, while 85% of the nude women were portrayed. Today, in a survey that will still be updated with more current data about the museum (which is part of the Guerrilla Girls programming here), 6% of the exhibitors at the São Paulo Museum of Art (MASP) are women, and 68% of the nudes Are female.

The Guerrilla Girls have already been at important artistic poles in Brazil, taking questions about gender and race inequality in art, and are now returning to São Paulo. From August 12 to December 3 they will be at Sesc Sorocaba (SP), and from September 29 to February 2018 at MASP, where they will hold the first individual exhibition in Brazil.

Are you ready for the Guerrilla Girls? "Are you ready for the Guerilla Girls?" With this question, the collective of feminist artists will present a retrospective with more than 100 of their iconic posters, as well as a performance that will take place on September 29 with four of the current members Of the collective - whose exact number is not revealed.

The posters will be distributed in chronological line, in English, with Portuguese subtitles. One of the most important parts of the MASP project is the edition of a 150-page catalog with the reproduction of all the posters already produced by the group, as well as interviews and texts with the curators of the Camila Bechelany and Adriano Ventura shows.

Two of the works will be recreated in Portuguese: The Advantages of Being a Woman Artist and the famous yellow poster depicting the naked female figure of Jean-Auguste Dominique's The Great Odalisque (1814) Ingres, dressed in a gorilla mask.

Trajectory
The artists have achieved such notoriety that they have become the main sources on the disparities in the art - that are consequence of the gender and racial inequality also in the politics, in the market and in other instances. According to the artists, their work aims to "undermine the idea of a dominant narrative to reveal sub-history, subtext, what is ignored and blatant injustice."

Although they are now invited by the museums they criticized, having collections in the Pompidou (Paris) and MoMA (NY), for example, the firmness of the guerrillas continues: it is only a question of widening the audience and spreading the word.

"We believe it's great to criticize an institution on its own walls. At the Venice Biennale, we exhibited six major banners on the historic breakdown of the Biennale itself and the museums in Venice. More than 1 million people visited our exhibition at the Center Pompidou in Paris. Whenever our work appears in an institution like this, we get tons of emails from people saying that our work has shown them something they never knew about art and culture, and that we have inspired them to carry out their own crazy, creative activism "Guerrilla Käthe Kollwitz told Estado de S. Paulo.

The ironic series The advantages of being an artist woman is already a classic and impresses by the current situation of women in the arts:

The Advantages of Being a Woman Artist:
- Work without the pressure of success;
- Not having to be in exhibitions with men;
- Have an escape from the art world in your 4 free-lancers jobs;
- Knowing that your career can take off after you are 80;
- Be sure that any kind of art you do will be labeled "feminine";
- See your ideas live in the work of others;
- Have the opportunity to choose between career and maternity;
- Have more time to work when your partner trades you for a younger woman;
- Be included in revised versions of art history books;
- Not having to face the embarrassment of being called a genius;
- Have your portrait in art magazines using a gorilla costume.

This inequality, however, is far from gone unnoticed: there are the Guerrilla Girls, fighting for us in the jungle.

Are you ready for the Guerrilla Girls?

– Trabalhar sem a pressão do sucesso;
– Não ter que estar em exposições com homens;
– Ter uma escapatória do mundo da arte em seus 4 empregos free-lancers;
– Saber que sua carreira pode deslanchar depois que você tiver 80 anos;
– Estar segura de que qualquer tipo de arte que você fizer vai ficar rotulada como “feminina”;
– Ver suas ideias viverem no trabalho de outros;
– Ter a oportunidade de escolher entre carreira e maternidade;
– Ter mais tempo pra trabalhar quando seu parceiro te trocar por uma mulher mais nova;
– Ser incluída em versões revisadas de livros de história da arte;
– Não ter que enfrentar o embaraço de ser chamado de gênio;

Japanese physician who attended until the age of 105 shares 12 of his principles for a long life.

Dr. Shigeaki Hinohara, Japan's

For a medical practitioner in longevity, no presentation of his professional abilities can be better than his own life - and this is only one of the attributes that classify the Japanese physician Shigeaki Hinohara as the master and the great inspiration that he was.

Deceased at age 105 and still working, having lived his long life with impeccable mental and physical health, Dr. Shigeaki left not only his history of intense dedication to medicine and more human care with his patients, but also some concrete tips for living a Good and long life as part of his legacy.

Born in 1911, Hinohara became one of the doctors to devote more time to the health and happiness of his patients in the world. And the term "happiness" here is not used by chance: the physician was a pioneer in the most personal and individual treatment of patients and, even after his death, continues as an inspiration to improve the quality of our lives.

There is no question of life, Dr. Shigeaki understood - and so it is worth remembering here his 12 most important tips, taken from an interview that the doctor gave at age 97.

Some principles of Dr. Shigeaki Hinohara

1. Eat Right
"Everyone who lives a long life, regardless of nationality, race or gender, shares one thing in common: no one is overweight."

2. Do not take shortcuts
"To stay healthy, always climb stairs and carry your own things. I go up two steps to exercise my muscles. "

3. Rediscover your youthful energy
"Energy comes from feeling good, not from eating well or sleeping a lot. We all remember when we were kids and we were having fun, just like we forgot to eat or sleep. I believe we can maintain this attitude as adults. It's better not to tire your body with too many rules like time to eat and bedtime. "

4. Keep busy
"Always plan ahead. My schedule is already complete for the next five years, with lectures and my usual work in the hospital. "

5. Keep working
"There is no need to retire at all, but if need be, it must be much later than at age 65. Fifty years ago, there were only 125 Japanese who were over 100 years old. Today, there are more than 36,000. "

6. Continue to contribute to society
"After a certain age, we must strive to contribute to society. Since I was 65 I volunteer. I still work 18 hours, 7 days a week and I love every minute. "

7. Spread your knowledge
"Share what you know. I give 150 lectures a year, some for 100 high school children, some for 4,500 businessmen. I usually speak for an hour, an hour and a half, standing, to stay strong. "

8. Understand the value of different disciplines
"Science alone can not heal or help people. Science treats us all as one, but diseases are individual. Each person is unique, and diseases are connected with their hearts. To understand illness and help people, we need free and visual arts, not just medicine. "

9. Follow Your Instincts
"Contrary to popular belief, doctors can not cure everything and everyone. So why cause unnecessary pain with, for example, surgery in certain cases? I think music and animal therapy can help people more than doctors realize. "

10. Resist materialism
"Do not go mad for the accumulation of material things. Remember, you do not know when it will be your turn, and we will not take anything from here. "

11. Have life models and inspirations
"Find someone who inspires you to try to go even further. My father came to the US to study in 1900, was a pioneer and one of my heroes. I later found other life guides, and when I feel paralyzed, I wonder how they would deal with the problem. "

12. Do not underestimate the power of fun
"Pain is something mysterious, and having fun is the best way to forget it. If a child is having toothache and you begin to play with it, it immediately forgets the pain. Hospitals need to offer the basic needs of patients: we all want to have fun. At St. Luke's we have music, animal therapy and art classes. "

"My inspiration is Robert Browning's poem" Abt Vogler, "which my father used to read to me. It encourages us to make great art, not scrawls. It says to try to draw such a big circle that there is no way to finish it as long as we live. All we see is a bow, the rest is beyond sight, but it's there, in the distance. "

Alguns princípios do Dr. Shigeaki Hinohara

1. Coma direito

The musical genre Chamamé is registered as Intangible Cultural Good of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, the record was published in the State Official Gazette 07-08-2017. International Festival: Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay. Festival internacional: Brasil, Argentina, Paraguai.

The good old Chamamé, one of the musical genres that marked (and mark!) The musical history of the State, is now considered to be 'very immaterial' in Mato Grosso do Sul, that is, the musical genre is officially recorded as One of the cultural expressions that reveal the cultural origins of the South-Mato Grosso people. The publication of the registration took place on Monday (7), in the Official Gazette of the State, signed by the Secretary of State for Culture and Citizenship (SECC), AthaYde Nery de Freitas Junior.

The endorsement for the registration of chamamé as an intangible cultural good was granted by the State Council of Culture, which considered the presence of the genus of Argentine and Paraguayan origin, the relation with the countries bordering Brazil provided the entrance of this cultural expression as one of the elements Foundations of the South-Mato Grosso culture.

"The musical genre derived from the Paraguayan polka and represents a cultural identity linked to the Guaraní soul, being found in Mato Grosso do Sul due to its geographic location and intense cultural exchange with the neighboring country, Paraguay. Was brought through its cultural heritages as the language, the celebrations, beliefs, myths, culinary, habits and music, being rooted in the traditions of the culture of the State and translating the South-Mato Grosso identity, "says today's publication. Daily.

The rise of chamamé to the place of immaterial cultural heritage occurs at the same time as Argentina, one of the cradles of this artistic expression, articulates by the record of chamamé as 'Patrímônio Cultural and Intangible of Humanity' with Unesco (United Nations Organization for Education, Science and Culture) - a dossier was submitted to the entity in June. A technical commission has already analyzed the request and the final result should be released in December 2018.

The relationship between Mato Grosso do Sul and the artistic expression is intimate. Native to the province of Corrientes in Argentina, the history of chamamé is confused with that of the Paraguayan polka and the guarânia, rhythms 'brothers' of chamamé. In Brazil, the genus arrived by Paraguayan (in MS) and Argentine (in Rio Grande do Sul) influence. Subsequently, these gauchos would come to where it is now Mato Grosso do Sul, where there was a kind of fusion of these references.

In the state, there is even 'capital of chamamé', the municipality of Rio Brilhante, 150 km from Campo Grande, which received this title in 2011. And a state law also came to consider September 19 as the 'Chamamé Day ', As well as the registration of the artistic expression among the cultural assets of the State, is the conquest of the Cultural Institute Chamamé MS - Polca, Guarânia and Chamamé.

At the head of the institute, is Radiator Orivaldo Mengual, 55, who presides over the organization and represents a group of enthusiasts of Chamamé, who for more than 20 years have been militating for the visibility of the genre among South Mato Grosso. It was Orivaldo who provided all the necessary dossier for the decree published today to be drawn up.

"We have been doing this work since the government of Zeca, and through the institute, we have made chamamé accessible, and every month we perform a saru, the first Friday of every month, where we celebrate chamamé and its genres Brothers, "says Orivaldo, who also presents the program" The Hour of the Chamamé ", which airs daily, Monday through Friday, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at FM Educativa 104.7.

For him, the record of chamamé is translated into victory after so many years in defense of the culture of the state. "We have been fighting for this for a long time, and from now on, we will have more strength to appreciate Chamamé in MS, and we will strengthen the institute's actions more and more with dances, seminars and other activities."

Orivaldo (right) with Delinha and Maciel Corrêa, icons of the Chamamé in Mato Grosso do Sul.

Festival
On the site of the institute, in the air for eight years, there is extensive research material with historical data and artistic references of the genre, among which are Aral Cardoso, the pair Beth & Betinha, the three-lagoon singer and composer Castelo Antônio Rodrigues de Queiróz), the Chama Campeira group, the Golden Ribbon group, the pair Délio & Delinha, Jandira & Benitez, Marcelo Loureiro, Nino and Nara Laydy, Paulo Arguelo, Vinícius Teló and Zé Corrêa, who is considered 'King Chamamé 'and pioneer in the genre in both Mato Grosso do Sul and Brazil.

In September, by the way, Campo Grande will host the Chamamé Cultural Festival 2017, from September 15 to 25, with realization by the Institute. The event will be free of charge and will be held at the Concha Acústica Helena Meirelles, in the Parque das Nações Indígenas.

"It will be an international festival because we are going to bring in the local groups, musicians and groups from Corrientes, in Argentina, which is the 'mecca' of Chamamé.
