On the first Wednesday of March, 7, General Valadão Square and the Cultural Center of Aracaju will receive the exhibition of the documentary Alápini, The Ancestral Heritage of Mestre Didi Asipá, directed by the journalist Silvana Moura. The work is a tribute to the sculptor, writer and supreme priest of the cult of egunguns, recognized worldwide for his artistic and intellectual production and his fundamental role in preserving Afro-Brazilian culture.

As a plastic artist, Mestre Didi disseminated customs, languages, aesthetics, literature and mythology of African peoples, especially his religion, candomblé, deepening students' knowledge about the influences of this culture in Brazilian national formation. In his works, Master Didi manipulates materials and forms, objects and emblems of the deities, uniting artistic production and religious practice.

After the documentary's presentation, there will be a chat with the dancer and master in Education, Reginaldo Daniel Flores, disciple of Mestre Didi.
And to end the night in high spirits, the singer and composer Sergipe Jaque Barroso promises to shake the Square with her remarkable voice and the force of Afro percussion. In the repertoire, songs from the popular culture segipana, coconut sambas, afrosambas and own compositions.

Documentário sobre vida e obra de Mestre Didi dia 7.
Na primeira quarta-feira de março, 7, a Praça General Valadão e o Centro Cultural de Aracaju vão receber a exibição do documentário Alápini, A Herança Ancestral de Mestre Didi Asipá, dirigido pela jornalista Silvana Moura. A obra é uma homenagem ao escultor, escritor e supremo sacerdote do culto de egunguns, reconhecido mundialmente pela sua produção artística, intelectual e do seu papel fundamental na preservação da cultura afro-brasileira.

Como artista plástico, Mestre Didi difundiu costumes, línguas, estéticas, literatura e mitologia dos povos africanos, principalmente a sua religião, o candomblé, aprofundando o conhecimento dos alunos sobre as influências dessa cultura na formação nacional brasileira. Em suas obras, Mestre Didi manipula materiais e formas, objetos e emblemas das divindades, unindo produção artística e prática religiosa.
“Mestre Didi é um dos grandes nomes da cultura brasileira, um sábio, conhecedor profundo do culto aos egunguns, do candomblé. Tentamos mostrar esses talentos múltiplos do Mestre: sacerdote, artista, escritor, dramaturgo, educador. É um dos grandes brasileiros do século XX, precisa ser conhecido nesse país. Sua vida é um exemplo! Ele viveu para preservar a herança dos seus ancestrais, logo temos que preservar o legado desse ser incrível”, explica a jornalista e diretora Silvana Moura.
Após a exibição do documentário, haverá um bate-papo com o bailarino e mestre em Educação, Reginaldo Daniel Flores, discípulo de Mestre Didi.
E para encerrar a noite em alto astral, a cantora e compositora sergipana Jaque Barroso promete sacudir a Praça com sua voz marcante e a força de percussão afro. No repertório, músicas da cultura popular segipana, sambas de coco, afrosambas e composições próprias.
