Religious racism: another form of the genocide of the black population in Brazil and of Brazilian Nazism.

The attacks and attempts to intimidate the sacred practices of the African matrix are ways to erase the black majority presence in Brazil.

One of the elements of the growth of the recent nazifacistas actions in Brazil is the attack to the temples of the religions of African matrix. These attacks are based on practices of religious intolerance, usually by groups that self-identify as "Christians" and which are attacking "demonic sects". However, they are more than practices of religious intolerance. They are practices of religious racism and are part of the most perverse mechanism of Brazilian structural racism, which is the genocide of the black population. Genocide is both the physical and symbolic extermination of the Afrodescendant Brazilian people. The attacks and attempts to intimidate the sacred practices of the African matrix are ways to erase the black majority presence in Brazil.

In early 2001, an extensive survey of the houses and temples of religions of African origin was carried out through an agreement between Unegro / SP (Union of Blacks for Equality of S. Paulo), an entity of the black São Paulo movement, and the Foundation Cultural Palmares, who funded the study. Unegro / SP and the team assembled by it abandoned this project, without explanation, even receiving the resources. The preliminary data, however, are very illustrative of what this religious racism means.

We interviewed 957 leaders from houses of religions of African origin in several Brazilian states. In São Paulo, where the data are more consolidated, there is a predominance of candomblé and umbanda houses. Of the total mapped, 56.94% are houses of candomblé, 32.32% are houses of umbanda and 8.45% were denominated as a "hybrid", candomblé / umbanda. In the case of candomblé houses, the overwhelming majority (61.35%) belong to the Ketu nation and 23.63% Angola. In the case of umbanda houses, 92.58% are known as "umbanda de drum" and 6.45% "umbanda without drum".

Other interesting data from this survey: more than 80% of the real estate where these temples are located - 81.5% in the case of candomblé; 84.51% in the case of a small band, but a little more than a third of them need to be renovated, restored or repaired, in the majority of the homes of candomblé (36.98%) against 34.57% of the houses of candomblé / umbanda and 30, 60% of umbanda homes. And this situation is directly linked to the profile of the priests: there is a greater black presence among the priests / leaders of candomblé than umbanda: 59.89% of the candomblé priests self-identify as black (black or brown); against 48.96% of umbanda and 48.14% of umbanda / candomblé. For comparison purposes, the black population in São Paulo is 32% according to official data.

What is observed in the crossing of these data is that the houses of religions of African matrix that has more black ones in the control are the ones that suffer more with the precariousness of facilities; that these religions are directed by black people and that the attacks suffered by them are directly linked to these situations of structural racism: unlike most sumptuous temples of Christian religions, they are simple venues, usually the dwelling of the priest himself, in neighborhoods peripheral areas and in need of renovation and restoration. And the linkage of these conditions to the ethnic-racial profile is demonstrated by the fact that most priests are black. Therefore, attacks on these religions are not merely practices of religious intolerance, although this is also present in these actions. They are also racist actions, because they attack venues of religions directed by black people, of the periphery, in the same syntony that police forces assassinate black youngsters in the peripheral neighborhoods; that public authorities do by scrapping public policies aimed at those most in need; that the increase of feminicide among black women, among others.

The articulation of the contemporary right

In an article in the collection "The fight against racism in Brazil" (Ed. Forum, 2017), I defended the idea that the Brazilian contemporary right is articulated in three ideological narratives. The first is the meritocracy narrative, whose main objective is to legitimize deep social inequalities in the country and to interdict the discussion about care policies and affirmative action - the idea of who has merit, can. The second is the narrative of securitization, which is expressed by the defense of the greatest police repression, the thesis that "good bandit is a dead bandit" and that the country's biggest problem is "criminality". And the third, is the narrative of salvationism, expressed by religious fundamentalism that people will be saved to fit a certain religious perspective (in general, neopentecostal), dividing people between "good" and "bad."

What we have here is a division of society between good and bad, between good citizens and evil citizens, between competent and incompetent people. It is the maximum expression of moralism as the only element that explains social problems. It is no coincidence that many of the protagonists of the operation of political persecution denominated "Lava-Jet" in Curitiba, profess themselves as evangelicals.

To associate African-born religions with satanic practices implies placing elements of Afro-Brazilian culture in the field of "evil". And people who practice it as "more". Thus, without having the rights of citizenship assured - even the right laid down in the Constitution to profess their religious beliefs. And so, in the same way that young blacks, black women, black workers, are excluded and can be beaten. This is the root of these aggressions.

For this reason, the fight against religious racism is an element of opposition to these narratives that support the ideology of the contemporary right in Brazil. This is not a religious fight, but a Nazi-Nazi action.

The Edifice

The National Museum of History of Moldova from the very beginning was located in the historical building of the former Chisinau Boys’ Gymnasia No.1, later the Boy’s Lyceum named after B.P. Hasdeu (in 1945 – 1963 in the premises there was housed the frontier detachment “Nistru”, and in 1963 – 1977 – the Polytechnic Institute), that was in the process of restoration.

The earthquake of 1977 has played a tragic role in the history of this monument, causing serious damage that could lead to a total destruction of the building. Restoration work, started in 1979, was halted because, due to the severe destruction, the building was beyond repair.

The old building was demolished and replaced by a new one (the construction lasted from 1980 to 1987), which retained only the exterior of the historical monument, built in eclectic style, and decorative elements of the gymnasia assembly hall, repeated in three domical rooms of the new building.

Thus, the new museum edifice, taken in operation in 1987, is a modern two-storey monumental building facing the 31 August, 1989 Street.  It has 12 exhibition rooms and a diorama, with a total area of 5,700 sq. m.

O edifício
2

Hasdeu(在1945年 - 1963年在该处所内安置了边境部队“Nistru”,并在1963年至1977年 - 理工学院),这正在恢复过程中。
