It will be the largest museum dedicated to printing in Europe. Wanted and financed by the printer Jean-Paul-Maury, the Atelier Musée de l'Imprimerie (AMI) will open its doors in September 2018 in Malesherbes in the Loiret (45), near one of the production sites of the Maury Group Printer.

Nearly 1,000 pieces will be exhibited in an area of 5,000 m2, explains Jean-Marc Providence, museologist and director of the establishment, who steered the project throughout the design and implementation phase. The association Artegraf is, for its part, owner of the project, owner of the collections and the place.

Presses that work

Exhibits but not only! The museum was designed to be a living place. "The machines will work, there will be workshops to make paper, to compose, to print, to shape ... demonstrations of machine monotype, linotype ...". And spaces dedicated to the creators.

The mediation staff are trained this summer to welcome the first visitors and the first school groups in September. Several classes will visit each day.

Originally, a private collection

This exceptional collection, we owe it to the collector Serge Pozzoli, who had originally collected a hundred pieces. This printer's son, himself a printing director, became famous thanks to his passion for printing machinery and the automobile industry. His collection was bought by the Artegraf association with the support of Jean-Paul Maury twenty years ago.

"Since then there has been a series of acquisitions and we have gone from 100 to 1000 pieces with a great diversity of provenances but also categories and typologies of objects."

Different spaces and temporary exhibitions

In addition to the collection, the museum will include a shop, a library and an area designed to accommodate graphic arts students doing research work or leading a creative project (with all means available, engraving, lithography, size -douce, typography ...). Temporary exhibitions will also punctuate the life of the museum from 2019.

Maury Group.

Welcome to the National Museum of China (NMC). - Bem-vindo ao Museu Nacional da China (NMC). - A Propos du Musée National de Chine - Das Chinesische Nationalmuseum - Breve introduzione al Museo Nazionale - История музея - 国博の紹介 - 박물관 소개 - Добро пожаловать в Национальный музей Китая (NMC).

Like the ancestral halls and temples of Chinese culture, NMC is the top palace of history and art in China displaying our nation’s excellent traditional culture, revolutionary culture and advanced socialist culture, and houses more than 1.4 million exhibits as the embodiment and witness of China’s brilliant civilization which has lasted for 5,000 years. Led by General Secretary Xi Jinping, all members of the Standing Committee of the 18th CPC Central Committee Political Bureau visited NMC’s permanent exhibition The Road of Rejuvenation on November 29, 2012. In his speech, General Secretary Xi Jinping called for realizing the Chinese Dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, ushering in the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics.

NMC was established in 2003 after the merging of the National Museum of Chinese History and the National Museum of Chinese Revolution, but its history can be traced back to 1912 when the Preparatory Office of the National Museum of History was founded. After the development of more than 100 years, NMC has achieved profound historical and cultural significance, and has become an important platform for collection, protection and display of cultural relics, social education, scientific research as well as international historical and cultural exchanges. With a floor area of nearly 200,000 square meters, NMC is the largest single-building museum in the world. As the home to two permanent exhibitions (Ancient China and The Road of Rejuvenation) and dozens of thematic exhibitions, NMC also organizes more than 50 high-level international exchange exhibitions and temporary exhibitions around the year, attracting nearly 10,000,000 domestic and foreign visitors every year.

NMC collects nearly 6,000 Grade One cultural relics in diverse types with great historical, scientific and artistic value, which witness the inheritance of China’s excellent traditional culture in 5,000 years, the untiring struggle of the Chinese people for more than 170 years after the Opium War, the development of the People’s Republic of China in nearly 70 years, the achievements of China’s reform and opening up in almost 40 years, and the new efforts of the Chinese people after the 18th CPC National Congress. NMC is also a “cultural parlor” for China, and plays the functions of promoting international cultural exchanges, showcasing the charm of Chinese civilization and highlighting the achievements of world civilization.

The 19th CPC National Congress included Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era in the Party’s guiding ideology together with Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory, the Theory of Three Represents and the Scientific Outlook on Development, making clear the direction for tremendous transformation of the Chinese nation. It is revealed by the diversified NMC collection that the Chinese people have lofty ideals and are willing to make great efforts for realizing those ideals, and the Chinese Dream will become true with unified actions of all ethnic groups in China under the leadership of the Party. As a part of the efforts to meet the people’s ever-growing needs for a better life, NMC will endeavor to promote the creative evolution and development of fine traditional Chinese culture, see our revolutionary culture remains alive and strong, and develop an advanced socialist culture with greater confidence and courage. NMC will make its due contributions to enhancing cultural confidence and developing a great socialist culture in China, and build itself into a first-class museum in the world.

A museum is a living encyclopedia. I believe that when you browse through the exhibitions of history and art at NMC, you will better understand the spiritual endowments and pursuits of the Chinese nation, marvel at the splendor of Chinese culture, experience colorful international cultural exchanges, and feel the proudness and responsibility as a Chinese.

Come and have a wonderful time at NMC!

Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade. - Museu Etnográfico em Belgrado. - Etnografski muzej u Beogradu. - Ethnographisches Museum in Belgrad. -

Ethnographic museum in Belgrade is one of the oldest museums on the Balkans. Recently it has celebrated its hundredth anniversary and it rightfully deserves to be called a guardian of national culture.

Ethnographic Museum was established in February 1901, but its roots reach deeper into the past. Gathering of ethnographic items started as early as in the middle of 19th century, and in 1844 some ethnographic items could be found in the National Museum of Serbia (Serbskonarodni muzej).

The first permanent exhibition of Ethnographic Museum was opened on September 20, 1904 and since then museum curators have constantly been collecting ethnographic items; therefore, Museum fund is continually growing. During the First and the Second World Wars Ethnographic Museum lost a large number of items, which perished in military operations. Thanks to maintenance of traditional way of living in the Balkans after the First World War the enlargement of Museum fund was continued, and in 1926, the Museum started publishing Glasnik Etnografskog muzeja (Bulletin of Ethnographic Museum) that has regularly been issued to the present. The end of the Second World War was marked by initiation of systematic research of ethnologic branches and accomplishment of many separate studies. At the same time systematic and scientifically based conservation of items started.

Up to now Ethnographic Museum had eight permanent exhibitions and held some 300 occasional displays. Permanent exhibition is on three levels. Today, Museum cherishes a large number of ethnographic items, organized into separate collections (household items, jewellery, customs, folk costume, national architecture, economy, cattle breeding, transport, rite items etc.). It has one of the richest specialized libraries in the Balkans and it publishes its professional publications. Museum possesses conservation service that can treat all sorts of materials, a huge display premises and it organizes large-scale ethnographic researches… and it has willingness and knowledge to explore ethnologically and anthropologically even the 21st century.

Danas Muzej neguje veliki broj etnografskih predmeta organizovanih u zasebnim kolekcijama (predmeti za domaćinstvo, nakit, običaji, narodna nošnja, nacionalna arhitektura, ekonomija, stočarstvo, transport, obred i sl.).

Ethnographisches Museum in Belgrad.
