"Take advantage of those giant walls and communicate with people who live and spend there." This is how the Public Display Poster is summarized, according to creative director and organizer Bruno Pereira.

Until 29 October, the streets of Marvila will display 30 posters of 30 different artists, in an initiative that aims to "communicate through a place that is not randomly chosen in the center of the capital and that seems to be a place abandoned by people who do not live there, "explained the director.

"It's obviously more of a reason for a trip through Marvila, along more hidden paths and streets not so common in our fast travels," said Vera Marmelo, guest photographer, who also said it was "a luxury" to see the work exposed in the streets of Marvila .

Along the road and in streets where access is easier on foot, this initiative is distinguished by leaving "the restricted circuit and elite to jump onto the street. So anyone who goes on the ride, on the bus or in the car has contact with the art. It's a bit "if you will not have art, art comes to you," explained Adriano Miranda, guest photographer.

This is "an open gallery that aims to promote artists and bring life to a neighborhood in Lisbon that was once so abandoned," said Rita Braz.

For the organization of the Poster, the relationship of people with art is one of the main objectives. Another is to promote a "not obvious place," says Bruno Pereira.

"We must encourage a permanent dialogue between society and culture," says This is Peace, guest studio responsible for one of the works facing the river Tagus.

For artists like New Coroné, winner of Open Call, it is "very interesting to see how others react to the images we create. Lisbon is a great city and the walls of Marvila are as good a place as or better than any other for a visual display. "

To give another life to these walls, the Poster invited some artists to participate in this open-air exhibition and gives everyone the opportunity to participate in Open Call, where 10 works were selected.

"It is important to have more initiatives like this where the work of renowned artists is shown with the work of people that are appearing, which brings visibility and value to them," says Giotto, one of the winners of Open Call.

Also for artists, this is an important initiative because "for a new artist it is not easy to be part of an exhibition," said Mónica Sousa, one of the winners of the contest.

This Show does not have any indication of theme, being the main criterion "multidisciplinarity".

For Tháysa Barbosa, winner of the Open Call, as in the case of other artists, her play serves as a wake-up call to the conditions of life in Brazil: "It is to make my pain become force so that the people have the courage to fight every day. Who does not fight here in Brazil, is dead. "

After "lining the walls" of the poster room in his youth, Bruno Pereira believes that even today these are a "medium of communication super interesting and effective ... An interactive way and with much more power than to cut a post on facebook or on Instagram"

Go "go for a skateboard ride in Marvila that the walls speak of", is the invitation of Filippo Fiumani, an artist, so that everyone - lovers or not of skateboard - stop and look at the walls of Marvila.

Open Call.

A square of glass and concrete designed by Roland Simounet, hidden in the heart of the forest ... This good surprise is discovered after a walk of one hour along the GR13.

At the exit of the station of Nemours, it takes a good hour to reach on foot the museum of Prehistory. But it is the occasion of a beautiful stroll on the GR13 trail, which crosses the old center and its castle, then the Loing and the suburbs, before entering the forest. Here, as in the vast massif of Fontainebleau, nearby, trails weave between imposing blocks of sandstone, and rub shoulders with sandbanks, pines and oaks. The museum appears at the end of the road, "set up like a hunting camp among the trees and the rocks" (1), to use the words of its architect, Roland Simounet, who died in 1996, of which it is the masterpiece. He is also the museum of Villeneuve-d'Ascq and the transformation of the hotel Salé before he welcomes the Picasso Museum. In Nemours, Roland Simounet wanted a space filled with "dreams and memories", but it became urgent to preserve it from water leaks: eight months of closure were necessary to carry out the sealing works and the replacement of one hundred and sixty bay windows.

1
The collections, which range from the Paleolithic to the Iron Age,
are highlighted by concrete and the quality of light.

A space filled with dreams and memory
Installed in a 50-meter square, the museum incorporates some of Le Corbusier's principles: rough formwork concrete, open plan, wide openings and an interior access ramp that allows for a real architectural stroll. Upstairs, the museum offers a discovery of prehistory through four major periods from the Paleolithic, there are six hundred thousand years, at the end of the Iron Age, the first traces of the man to the end of the Gauls. Among the objects presented, some fascinate: like the nucleus, these flint blocks whose chips were used in the manufacture of tools, the remains of an eight thousand year old canoe, or even the engraved pebble of Etiolle, representing a horse: "undoubtedly the" highlight "of the collection", according to curator Anne-Sophie Leclerc.

The climates of the prehistoric eras
These objects are highlighted by the concrete furniture, also designed by Romand Simounet, and the splendid quality of light, thanks to the openings and the six patios that mark the course: four of them host indoor gardens evoking the climates of prehistoric eras. The fig tree, the laurel and the boxwood, which accompanied the first steps of the man in the region, belong to species of which traces were found during excavations in Vernou-la-Celle-sur-Seine, nearby from Nemours. Among the most recent objects, the Roman remains (ex-voto, pottery, glasses and carafes funeral) compose sublime still lifes.
