Until April 30, 2019, the Mori Building Digital Art Museum exhibits special cherry-themed installations that mark the beginning of spring in Japan: the interactive exhibition "Spirit of Flowers".

Opened at the end of June 2018, on the artificial island of Odaiba, on the outskirts of Tokyo, the museum is the first fully digital in the world. Already received, until March 2019, more than one million visitors.

The project is a partnership between the Mori construction company and the Japanese collective teamLab, formed by artists, architects, engineers, mathematicians and programmers. In the construction of almost 10,000 square meters, the collective organized about 50 futuristic installations, made only of lights, sounds, pixels and computer codes.

520 computers and 470 projectors were used. The title of the exhibition is "Borderless".

The idea, according to director Ou Sugiyama, was to give Bloomers the feeling of immersion and "continuous flow" to visitors, who walk in a labyrinth of rooms literally illuminated by works of art.

According to the journalist Elaine Lau's criticism of Asian art magazine Options, the exhibition is especially "unstable", like the installation called "Forest of Lamps". In addition to this in Japan, two other museums dedicated to digital art were recently inaugurated in 2018: the Atelier des Lumières in Paris; and the Bunker of Lumières in Jeju, South Korea.

Mori Building
