An artistic and diplomatic collaboration during the Second World War. - Uma colaboração artística e diplomática, durante a Segunda Guerra Mundial.

As an act of solidarity with the struggle against Nazism, 70 modernist Brazilian artists sent 168 works of art to England by ship. See 10 works.

Thea Haberfeld

In 1944, London hosted the first and largest exhibition of Brazilian artists in the United Kingdom to this day. Cardoso Junior

Clóvis Graciano

The author of this work began the career of painter when he met the artist Cândido Portinari. Lucy Citti Ferreira

Lucy was born in São Paulo, but spent her childhood and adolescence between France and Italy with her family. Emiliano Di Cavalcanti

Thea Haberfeld

Em 1944, Londres abrigou a primeira e a maior exposição de artistas brasileiros no Reino Unido até hoje. Clóvis Graciano

O autor desta obra começou a carreira de pintor quando conheceu o artista Cândido Portinari. Clóvis foi um dos fundadores do Museu da Arte Moderna de São Paulo e entre 1976 e 1978 trabalhou como chefe do setor cultural da Embaixada do Brasil em Paris. Obra: Ballerina, 1942. THE CREATION AND OBJECTIVES OF MUARQ. - Museum of Archeology of the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. - A CRIAÇÃO E OS OBJETIVOS DO MUARQ. - Museu de Arqueologia da Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso do Sul, Brasil.

Based on the results of the archaeological research carried out 20 years ago in the State of Mato Grosso do Sul by the Archaeological Research Laboratory (LPA / DHI / CPAQ / UFMS), this unit motivated the creation, in the year 2006 , from the Museum of Archeology of the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (MuArq).



MuArq was established in accordance with the Provisional Service Instructions for Planning, Budget and Finance No. 125/2006, of 08/03/2006, No. 184 of 06/10/2006, as a unit with the status of Division of UFMS, linked to the Pro-Rectory of Research and Post-Graduation. MuArq was implemented through Resolution No. 53 of 09/27/2006, of the University Council of UFMS. This Council, through Resolution No. 54 of 09/27/2006, approved the objectives of MuArq:



I - to collect and analyze archaeological data in the area of ​​prehistory, ethnology and history of the State of Mato Grosso do Sul, with a view to reconstituting and understanding the occupation of the regional space by man in his different cultural systems;

II - registering and providing to the Institute of National Historical and Artistic Heritage (IPHAN) the registration of the State Archaeological Sites, as patrimony of the Union, as well as collaborating in its preservation;

III - to preserve the collected archaeological collection, with scientific and museological criteria, and make it accessible to studies and research;



IV - to carry out didactic expositions of part of the collection, as an instrument of dissemination, scientific education and preservationist;

V - maintain interchange with similar institutions with a view to the reciprocal dissemination of information and scientific updating;

VI - to constitute a scientific database to assist the research through specialized library, mapoteca, litoteca, collections of animal skeletons, ethnographic collections, etc .;

VII - offer support to university research and extension programs and undergraduate and postgraduate courses;

VIII - preserve and advise the Institution, when requested, in legal situations, such as "EIA / RIMAs", litigation in indigenous areas, archaeological salvage, preservation of cultural and / or historic property, etc .;

IX - to acquire and / or receive donations from private collections;



X - publish the studies carried out in own periodicals and / or other institutions;

XI - make funds available and propose the execution of agreements related to the area of ​​operation;

XII - organize and develop informal courses aimed at the dissemination of scientific knowledge and curatorial techniques and conservation of museum collections, as well as heritage education programs;

XIII - to develop other activities within its area of ​​activity.

MuArq is a permanent, non-profit institutional unit, dated from an organizational structure that allows it to guarantee a unitary destiny to a set of cultural assets and values ​​them through research, incorporation, inventory, documentation, conservation, interpretation, scientific and educational objectives and to provide regular access to the public and promote the democratization of culture, the promotion of the person and the development of society.

The entire process of origin, creation, implantation and consolidation of MuArq was developed under the management of Prof. Dr. Gilson Rodolfo Martins, Head of Division of this Museum until 10/11/2013. Currently this activity is the responsibility of Profa. Dr. Emília Mariko Kashimoto.

A CRIAÇÃO E OS OBJETIVOS DO MUARQ. - Museu de Arqueologia da Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso do Sul, Brasil.

Tendo-se em vista o resultado das pesquisas arqueológicas realizadas havia 20 anos, no Estado de Mato Grosso do Sul, pela equipe do Laboratório de Pesquisas Arqueológicas (LPA/DHI/CPAQ/UFMS), esta unidade motivou a criação, no ano de 2006, do Museu de Arqueologia da Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso do Sul (MuArq).

O MuArq foi instituído conforme as Instruções de Serviço da Pró-Reitoria de Planejamento, Orçamento e Finanças n° 125/2006, de 03/08/2006, e n° 184, de 06/10/2006, como unidade com status de Divisão da UFMS, vinculada à Pró-Reitoria de Pesquisa e Pós-Graduação. O MuArq foi implantado por meio da Resolução n° 53 de 27/09/2006, do Conselho Universitário da UFMS. Este Conselho, por meio da Resolução n° 54 de 27/09/2006, homologou os objetivos do MuArq:

I – coletar a analisar dados arqueológicos na área da pré-história, etnologia e história do Estado de Mato Grosso do Sul, com vistas à reconstituição e compreensão da ocupação do espaço regional pelo homem em seus diferentes sistemas culturais;

II – cadastrar e providenciar junto ao Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional (IPHAN) o registro dos Sítios Arqueológicos do Estado, como patrimônio da União, bem como colaborar na sua preservação;

III – conservar o acervo arqueológico recolhido, com critérios científicos e museológicos, e torná-lo acessível a estudos e pesquisa;

IV – realizar exposições didáticas de parte do acervo, como instrumento de divulgação, educação científica e preservacionista;

V – manter intercâmbio com instituições similares com vistas à divulgação recíproca de informações e atualização científica;

VI – constituir banco de dados científicos auxiliar à pesquisa mediante biblioteca especializada, mapoteca, litoteca, coleções de esqueletos animais, coleções etnográficas, etc.;

VII – oferecer apoio a programas de pesquisa e extensão universitária e a cursos de graduação e pós-graduação;

VIII – preservar e assessorar a Instituição, quando solicitada, em situações de natureza legal, como “EIA/RIMAs”, litígios em áreas indígenas, salvamento arqueológico, preservação de imóveis de valor cultural e/ou histórico, etc.;

IX – adquirir e/ou receber doações de coleções particulares;

X – publicar os estudos realizados em periódicos próprios e/ou de outras instituições;

XI – viabilizar recursos e propor a celebração de convênios relacionados à área de atuação;

XII – organizar e desenvolver cursos informais voltados para a divulgação do conhecimento científico e técnicas de curadoria e conservação de acervo museológico, bem como programas de educação patrimonial;

XIII – desenvolver outras atividades dentro de sua área de atuação.

O MuArq é uma unidade institucional de caráter permanente, sem fins lucrativos, datado de uma estrutura organizacional que lhe permite garantir um destino unitário a um conjunto de bens culturais e valoriza-los através da investigação, incorporação, inventário, documentação, conservação, interpretação, exposição, com objetivos científicos, educativos e lúdicos, e facultar o acesso regular ao público e fomentar a democratização da cultura, a promoção da pessoa e o desenvolvimento da sociedade.

Todo o processo de origem, criação, implantação e consolidação do MuArq foi desenvolvido sob a gestão do Prof. Dr. Gilson Rodolfo Martins, Chefe de Divisão desse Museu até 11/10/2013. Atualmente essa atividade é de responsabilidade da Profa. Dra. Emília Mariko Kashimoto.
