O brasileiro Luiz Braga vai para as paredes do Pérez Art Museum em Miami e não é a primeira vez. 

O museu acaba de incluir em seu acervo “Sideral” – aparelhagem de som dessas itinerantes que tocam nos bailes populares e nas cidades do interior do Pará -, foto do paraense que dá nome à individual que ele abre nesta quinta-feira na Galeria Leme.

Já faz parte do acervo do Pérez “Montagem no Arraial”, de 2003, que você confere logo abaixo. Na Leme serão Na mostra 20 trabalhos, na maioria inéditos, realizados entre 1982 e 2015, nos quais ele explora os aspectos formais da relação entre as pessoas e seus ambientes, tendo como pano de fundo o Pará e o Amazonas.

O cineasta Guilherme Coelho, diretor do longa “Órfãos do Eldorado”, baseado no livro homônimo do amazonense Milton Hatoum e amigo pessoal de Braga, foi convidado a escrever um texto de apresentação da exposição, no qual narra seu primeiro contato com a obra do fotógrafo e o fascínio instantâneo causado por aquele mundo de luzes e cores deslumbrantes.

O fotógrafo é vencedor de importantes prêmios como o Leopold Godowsky Jr. Color Photography e o Prêmio Marcantonio Vilaça. Suas obras integram outras coleções importantes como, da Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo, do MAC/USP, do MASP, do MAM de São Paulo, e do MAR no Rio. Brazilian Luiz Braga goes to the walls of the Pérez Art Museum in Miami and is not the first time.
