Concert of the Ukrainian romance. - Concerto do romance ucraniano.

On April 22, in the hallway hall of the Galagan Hall, a concert of "Ukrainian romance" by Yulia Fezai (soprano) and Anne Gore (concertmaster) took place within the framework of the project "Music Meetings in the Museum".

In his famous book Life of the Museum, Alexander Crane, then-director of the State Museum of O.S. Pushkin in Moscow, very clearly noticed that "Once born, the museum does not remain unchanged. His life is the accumulation of qualities, the purpose of new and new updates, births. " Indeed, this applies, apparently, to every museum, although, of course, the stories are all different.

Chernihiv Regional Art Museum named after Gregory Galagan is one of the youngest in Ukraine. It was created on the basis of the art department of the Chernihiv Historical Museum (now the VVTarnovsky Museum) in accordance with the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Ukrainian SSR of June 12, 1979. In it, in particular, it was noted that in the funds of the Chernihiv Historical Museum there is a unique collection of works of fine and decorative art, which includes more than 8 thousand exhibits.

In December 1981 a decision was made by the regional executive committee, which provided for the construction of an additional school plan for 1167 places in Chernihiv, in which it was necessary to resettle the school number 2, because it was located in the zone of the state historical-architectural reserve on the Valu near the historical museum.

A new school was built, and in March 1983, another Resolution of the Council of Ministers "On the creation of an art museum in the city of Chernihiv" came out, according to which at the end of August this year the premises of the school № 2 were transferred to the regional department of culture for the organization of a museum of art with a full-time painting 15.5 units. Acting Director was appointed SV Klyuchnik.

The Chernihiv Regional Art Museum named after Gregory Galagan, located on the territory of the ancient princely city, in the monument of architecture of the XIX century, even looks outwardly reflects the idea of the museum as a place bearing the imprint of time, reflections of the history and culture of our people.

Similar to him and the museum collection, which has about 8 thousand works of fine arts and crafts, from the XVI century to the present. It is based on the unique collection of Galagan, represented by works of Western European and domestic art of the 17th-19th centuries, a folk painting, including the famous Kozak Mamay, portraits of the representatives of the eight generations of this famous Cossack-senior family and their famous relatives - Razumovsky, Daragan, Markevich, Lamsdorf.

An important place in the museum collection is the works of icon painting, mostly Ukrainian, including the canonical Archangel Michael, the collection of the Theotokos icons, the original folk icon with a peculiar interpretation of one or another image of the holy patron saint.

There is also a significant collection of works by well-known Ukrainian and Russian artists - academics, among them "Domination of girls at the wreaths of marriage" I. Sokolova, "Gothic bridge in Sokyrynsky park" O. Voloskov, "Autumn plow in Little Russia" M. Kholda, "Storm" at the sea "by I. Aivazovsky and many others.

A small, but interestingly enough, collection of Western European paintings, in particular the works of Italian artists of the HUP-HUSH centuries, for the most part, unfortunately unknown. The Dutch and Flemish paintings present the works of the battle and everyday genre - P. Blaumen van Standart's "War Camp", F. Schweier's "In the Corps", various still lifes, canvases on mythological and evangelical stories. The decoration of the collection is, of course, a picturesque canvas "Concert" by the famous Dutch artist H. Terbryughen, dated 1626 year.

The art of France from the 18th and 19th centuries is represented by the names of such famous masters as G. Rober, J. Meissonier, J. Trezer, E. Falcone, F. Pompon.

The greatest part of the museum collection consists of the works of Ukrainian luminaries of the twentieth century - M. Zhuk, M. Samokish, S. Shishka, M. Glushenko, S. Grigor'eva, M. Deregusa, T. Yablonskaya, A.Kotskaya and many other representatives of socialist realism.

A considerable part of the collection collection consists of works of decorative and applied arts of Ukraine, created as artists-professionals, and original masters for almost two centuries. The application, embroidery and painting, glassware and porcelain, ceramics and wood products are represented by well-known names of the Sayenko family, M.Timchenko, M.Primachenko, I.Papolonov, G. Denisenko, A.Stepa and many other well-known masters.

The original collection of folk toys of Ukraine, Russia and Belarus, which has about 350 exhibits from wood, clay, straw and dough, is a vivid manifestation of the national culture of our peoples.

Not even owning it

French photographer, Olivier Boëls criticizes Brazil's relationship with the indigenous peoples who make an exhibition at the Museum of the Republic of Brasilia, Goias, Brazil, with 150 images of the Yawalapiti tribe of the Xingu.

Shows' Yawalapiti - Between times' Between times', poster until May 20

1

The respect and appreciation of the indigenous culture are the pillars that sustain the work of the French photographer Olivier Boëls in the exhibition "Yawalapiti."

The exhibition brings together about 150 images of the daily life of the Yawalapiti tribe, which lives in the Xingu Indigenous Park. Members of the tribe participate in the exhibition with explanations to visitors and demonstrations of rituals.

2

The intention is to bring the culture of the traditional peoples closer to a Brazil that, according to Boëls, rejects its origin. In his view, Brazilians tend to erase the history of the tribes and disregard the importance of the Indians for the formation of national identity.

"I know very few countries that have such great cultural diversity [like Brazil] and I think Brazil does not know how to take advantage of this, on the contrary," he told the G1. "Here, they speak of indigenous peoples in a still very pejorative way, very stereotyped. There is a lot of discrimination."

3

"Often, we give credit to those who have studied for 4, 5 years, who have a doctorate - and give credit without questioning anything at all," he criticized. "These people have a knowledge of the ancient nature and each one of them has decades of coexistence with nature. It is a sensibility that the people of the city do not have."

To see closely

4

The photographs summarize Boëls's five years of existence with the Yawalapiti peoples, one of the 16 ethnic groups that inhabit the Xingu Indigenous Park - preservation area north of Mato Grosso created in 1961 by the Villas Bôas brothers initiative to protect indigenous communities and environmental reserve

5

The exhibition, however, is not the exhibition of a photographer's work - explains Boëls. It is the collective revelation of the culture of a village. The look was the Frenchman who lent it, but it is the Indians themselves who give meaning to the images.

"It's an exhibition with them, not about them."

6

The legend of each of the photographs is written by members of the tribe, as well as the explanatory texts of the show. Throughout the exhibition season, it will be the Yawalapiti themselves who will mediate with the public - one hundred of them are in Brasilia.

They will present the show to visitors, promote round tables and also make presentations of traditional songs and dances, fights, body painting and even manual art workshop.

This Sunday (22), village warriors will demonstrate the struggle Huka Huka, traditional of the Xingu peoples. On Tuesday (24), the photographer, Olivier Boëls, participates in a round table with three Yawalapiti caciques: Waripirá, Makawana and Aritana - considered one of the largest indigenous leaders in the country.
