Museu de Astronomia inaugura exposição em parceria com Science Museum de Londres.
Mostra revela como impressoras 3D inspiram o futuro do design e setores como medicina e indústria
No dia 1º de junho, o Museu de Astronomia e Ciências Afins (Mast) abre ao público a exposição '3D: Imprimindo o Futuro'. Estarão em exibição mais de 100 peças que revelam como a nova tecnologia inspira o futuro do design e de diversos outros setores, como a medicina e a indústria.
Promovida em parceria com o Science Museum de Londres, a mostra já foi apresentada com sucesso na capital inglesa e na cidade de Manchester, também na Inglaterra. A entrada é gratuita.

"Nosso objetivo é ampliar o acesso da sociedade ao conhecimento científico e tecnológico", explica Heloísa Bertol, diretora do MAST. Para realizar a exposição, o Museu conta com o apoio de instituições que desenvolvem a tecnologia 3D no Brasil: Instituto Nacional de Tecnologia, Centro de Tecnologia da Informação Renato Archer, Instituto de Matemática Pura e Aplicada, Museu Nacional, Instituto Alberto Luiz Coimbra de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa em Engenharia (Coppe) e Plataforma Cammada.

Outra boa notícia é a reabertura, também em 1º de junho, da exposição 'Um Olhar nos Espaços de Dimensão 3D', fruto de uma parceria entre o Mast e o IMPA. Apresentada em algumas instituições na França, entre elas a Universidade de Paris, a mostra revela a beleza contida em alguns conceitos revolucionários da matemática, especialmente no campo da geometrização. Para isso, combina arte e interatividade em instalações que proporcionam ao público a sensação de estar imerso em ambientes tridimensionais. As noções são descritas sem fórmulas e com o mínimo de textos.

Ambas as exposições são atividades de divulgação científica que o Mast desenvolve no âmbito do Biênio da Matemática. O Brasil sediará, em 2017 e 2018, dois grandes eventos de relevância internacional: a Olimpíada Internacional da Matemática IMO 2017 e o Congresso Internacional de Matemáticos ICM 2018. Para aproveitar a oportunidade e fomentar o desenvolvimento da educação no País, o Congresso Nacional proclamou 2017-2018 o Biênio da Matemática no Brasil. O Mast é um dos parceiros da iniciativa, que conta com o apoio do Ministério da Ciência, Tecnologia, Inovações e Comunicações e do Ministério da Educação.
O Mast fica na Rua General Bruce, 586, em São Cristóvão. O funcionamento da exposição será de terça à sexta, de 9h às 17h, sábados, de 14h às 19h, e feriados, de 14h às 18h. A mostra ficará em cartaz até 31 de janeiro de 2018.

Shows reveal how 3D printers inspire the future of design and sectors like medicine and industry
On June 1st, the Museum of Astronomy and Related Sciences (Mast) opens the exhibition '3D: Printing the Future' to the public. More than 100 pieces will be on display that reveal how the new technology inspires the future of design and a host of other industries, including medicine and industry.
Promoted in partnership with the London Science Museum, the show has already been successfully presented in the English capital and in the city of Manchester, England. Admission is free.

"Our goal is to broaden society's access to scientific and technological knowledge," explains Heloísa Bertol, director of MAST. To carry out the exhibition, the Museum has the support of institutions that develop 3D technology in Brazil: National Institute of Technology, Information Technology Center Renato Archer, Institute of Pure and Applied Mathematics, National Museum, Instituto Alberto Luiz Coimbra de Pós -Graduation and Engineering Research (Coppe) and Platform Cammada.

Another good news is the reopening, also on June 1, of the exhibition 'A Look at 3D Spaces', the result of a partnership between Mast and IMPA. Presented in some institutions in France, among them the University of Paris, the exhibition reveals the beauty contained in some revolutionary concepts of mathematics, especially in the field of geometrization. For this, it combines art and interactivity in facilities that give the public the feeling of being immersed in three-dimensional environments. The notions are described without formulas and with the minimum of texts.

Both exhibitions are activities of scientific dissemination that Mast develops within the framework of the Mathematics Biennial. Brazil will host two major events of international relevance in 2017 and 2018: the International Mathematical Olympics IMO 2017 and the International Congress of Mathematicians ICM 2018. In order to seize the opportunity and foster the development of education in Brazil, the National Congress proclaimed 2017 -2018 the Mathematics Biennial in Brazil. Mast is one of the partners of the initiative, which has the support of the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovation and Communications and the Ministry of Education.
The Mast is located at General Bruce Street, 586, in St. Kitts. The exhibition will run from Tuesday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm, Saturdays, from 2pm to 7pm and holidays from 2pm to 6pm. The show will run until January 31, 2018.
