One of the most traditional religious manifestations in the region, Piracicaba's Divine Festival will be held this Sunday (July 2) at Largo dos Pescadores, on the banks of the Piracicaba River.

The event occurs from 1826, uninterrupted, and reaches in 2017 the 191st edition. The organization expects to receive 40,000 people every day of the event, both in religious and festive programming. Admission is free.
The event is an accomplishment of the Brotherhood of the Divine Holy Spirit, with the support of the City of Piracicaba, through the Municipal Secretary of Cultural Action and Tourism. "It is an event that carries the history of our city, the religiosity and the faith of its devotees, which manifests itself in a unique way," he said. "The importance of the Feast of the Divine transcends the religious question, which is part of the formation of Piracicaba itself. According to Rosangela Camolese.
The festive program of the event will be held from July 6, Thursday, with dinner, accompanied by the Night of Seresta, starting at 8:00 pm, in the presence of the Orciestra Piracicabana de Viola Caipira. The next day, June 7, there is the traditional Auction of Gifts and presentations of the Operational Union Band, at 8pm. On Saturday, the 8th, the schedule begins at 2:00 p.m., with the Congada do Divino, and continues at 8:00 p.m., with dinner packed by the Pedro and Pedrinho duo.
And on Sunday, closing the event, the schedule begins at 11am, with show of the duo Luis Cassio and Devair. The Feast of the Divine is configured as the most traditional religious and popular manifestation in the region, attracting thousands of people. The festivity would have been brought by its first settlers, when Viegas Muniz introduced the Meeting of the Flags in the river Piracicaba. The event counts on significant rituals such as Folia, Pouso, Gifts Auction, Meeting of the Flags, Procession, Mass and Cururu and Violeiros Wheels.
On December 20, 2016, the Feast of the Divine was recorded as Intangible Heritage of the municipality. In requesting registration to Codepac (Piracicaba Cultural Heritage Defense Council), Ipplap (Piracicaba Research and Planning Institute) justified its request by analyzing that "the recognition and appreciation of the Feast of the Divine Holy Spirit of Piracicaba is a Of the presuppositions for the preservation of the oldest and of great expression festive and religious manifestation of the piracicabana culture ".

Evento religioso chega aos 191 anos em Piracicaba.
Uma das manifestações religiosas mais tradicionais da região, a Festa do Divino de Piracicaba será realizada a partir deste domingo ( 2 de julho ) no Largo dos Pescadores, à beira do rio Piracicaba.
O evento ocorre desde 1826, ininterruptamente, e alcança em 2017 a 191a edição. A expectativa da organização é receber 40 mil pessoas em todos os dias do evento, tanto na programação religiosa, quanto na festiva. A entrada é gratuita.
O evento é uma realização da Irmandade do Divino Espírito Santo, com apoio da Prefeitura de Piracicaba, por meio da Secretaria Municipal da Açào Cultural e Turismo. "A importância da Festa do Divino transcende a questão religiosa. Ela faz parte da própria formação de Piracicaba. É um evento que carrega a história de nossa cidade, a religiosidade e a fé de seus devotos, que manifesta-se de maneira ímpar", destaca a secretária da pasta, Rosangela Camolese.

As águas famosas do rio viram cenário para a Festa do Divino
A programação festiva do evento será realizada a partir do dia 6 de julho, quinta-feira, com jantar, acompanhada da Noite da Seresta, a partir das 20h, na presença da Orquestra Piracicabana de Viola Caipira. No dia seguinte, 7 de junho, ocorre o tradicional Leilào de Prendas e apresentações da Banda Uniào Operária, às 20h. No sábado, dia 8, a programação começa às 14h, com a Congada do Divino, e continua às 20h, com jantar embalado pela dupla Pedro e Pedrinho.
E no domingo, encerramento do evento, a programação começa às 11h, com show da dupla Luís Cassio e Devair. A Festa do Divino se configura como a mais tradicional manifestação religiosa e popular da região, atraindo milhares de pessoas. A festividade teria sido trazida por seus primeiros povoadores, quando Viegas Muniz introduziu o Encontro das Bandeiras no rio Piracicaba. O evento conta com expressivos rituais como Folia, Pouso, Leilào de Prendas, Encontro das Bandeiras, Procissão, missa e Rodas de Cururu e Violeiros.
Em 20 de dezembro de 2016, a Festa do Divino foi registrada como Patrimônio Imaterial do município. Na solicitação do registro feito ao Codepac (Conselho de Defesa do Patrimônio Cultural de Piracicaba), o Ipplap (Instituto de Pesquisas e Planejamento de Piracicaba) justificou seu pedido ao analisar que "o reconhecimento e valorização da Festa do Divino Espírito Santo de Piracicaba é um dos pressupostos para a preservação da mais antiga e de grande expressão manifestação festiva e religiosa da cultura piracicabana".
