From the architect. Suzhou Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum is located at east part of the Suzhou Horticultural Exposition Park, in a reserved village near Taihu Lake of Wuzhong District, Suzhou.
The site is surrounded by river on its three sides, and the design is inspired by its natural environment and the traditional culture of the city- Suzhou.
Our strategy is connecting different scattered functions by courtyards and outdoor corridors in order to generate the spatial experience of traditional building types. In consideration of local climates, it allows visitors to walk through those outdoor corridors between different courtyards when raining.
The main spaces located in the courtyards are designed with identities, such as the dome theater covered by laminated bamboo louvers with green vegetation, the iconic cloud installation on the roof-top platform of the museum lobby, the observation tower that overlooks the surrounding view in distance and the restaurant at the water-front.
To meet the program requirements and reduce the negative impact on natural environment, the majority of the volume is covered by green roof. It amplifies the theme of blending the boundary between architecture and nature.
The Suzhou Intangible cultural heritage museum offers people large amount of information and interactive experiences during their visit. Three atriums create natural ventilation and lighting, and direct visitors to the roof exhibition platform.
It forms a public park with various types of vegetation where outdoor performances, dining events as well as educational and interactive experience can take place.

Do arquiteto. O Museu do Patrimônio Cultural Imaterial de Suzhou está localizado na parte leste do Parque de Exposição Horticultural de Suzhou, em uma aldeia reservada perto do Lago Taihu, no distrito de Wuzhong, em Suzhou.
O site está rodeado por um rio nos seus três lados e o design é inspirado pelo seu ambiente natural e pela cultura tradicional da cidade, Suzhou.
Nossa estratégia é conectar diferentes funções dispersas por pátios e corredores ao ar livre para gerar a experiência espacial dos tipos de construção tradicionais. Em consideração aos climas locais, permite aos visitantes atravessar os corredores ao ar livre entre diferentes pátios quando chovem.
Os espaços principais localizados nos pátios são projetados com identidades, como o teatro de cúpula coberto por grelhas de bambu laminadas com vegetação verde, a icônica instalação de nuvens na plataforma do telhado do lobby do museu, a torre de observação que tem vista para a vista circundante em Distância e o restaurante na frente da água.
Para atender aos requisitos do programa e reduzir o impacto negativo no ambiente natural, a maior parte do volume é coberta pelo telhado verde. Amplifica o tema de misturar a fronteira entre arquitetura e natureza.
O museu de patrimônio cultural imaterial de Suzhou oferece às pessoas uma grande quantidade de informações e experiências interativas durante sua visita. Três atriums criam ventilação natural e iluminação, e direcionam os visitantes para a plataforma de exibição do telhado.
Forma um parque público com vários tipos de vegetação, onde performances ao ar livre, eventos de jantar, bem como experiência educacional e interativa podem ocorrer.
