Brazil will once again invade the Museum of Modern Art of New York (MoMA), but this time the motive is of the most important. After all, one of the most important museums in the world announced on Tuesday that in February 2018 will receive the first great exhibition of the Brazilian artist Tarsila do Amaral.

The museum's statement states that Tarsila had a style of "synthetic lines and sensual volumes to represent landscapes and vernacular scenes in a rich palette of colors, as well as the important contribution to the chapter in Latin American modernism."

It is worth remembering that this will be the third great exhibition of a Brazilian artist in New York in less than a year, since Lygia Pape exhibited in Met Breuer and Hélio Oiticica in the Whitney Museum of American Art.

In time: the work "Abaporu", which was sold in 1995 for $ 1.5 million to the Argentine Eduardo Costantini and is considered the most valuable Brazilian painting in the world, will be on display. In addition to it, "A Negra" and "Antropofagia" will also be part of the show that happens from February 11 to June 3!

O Brasil vai invadir mais uma vez o Museu de Arte Moderna de Nova York (MoMA), só que esta vez o motivo é dos mais importantes. Afinal, um dos museus mais importantes do mundo anunciou nessa terça-feira que em fevereiro de 2018 receberá a primeira grande exposição da artista brasileira Tarsila do Amaral.

O comunicado do museu afirma que Tarsila tinha um estilo de “linhas sintéticas e volumes sensuais para representar paisagens e cenas vernáculas em uma rica paleta de cores, além da importante contribuição com o capítulo no modernismo latino-americano”.

Vale lembrar que essa será a terceira grande exposição de um artista brasileiro em Nova York em menos de um ano, já que Lygia Pape expôs no Met Breuer e Hélio Oiticica no Whitney Museum of American Art.

Em tempo: a obra “Abaporu”, que foi vendida em 1995 por US$ 1,5 milhão ao argentino Eduardo Costantini e é considerada a pintura brasileira mais valiosa do mundo, estará na exposição. Além dela, “A Negra” e “Antropofagia” também farão parte da mostra que acontece do dia 11 de fevereiro até 3 de junho!
