This Monday (14-08) is another stage of a process that should culminate in the creation of the Historical Museum of Imbituba: the Council of Aldermen votes the bill authored by the Executive that will allow the implementation of the enterprise.
The project of the new museum, which will tell the whole history of the municipality, is budgeted at R $ 6 million, but the idea is that its facilities be built in stages, to facilitate the search for resources.
The museum will be located in the old building of a thermoelectric plant, located in the Center, on the banks of the Bomba Lagoon. Dated from 1917, the construction is historical and registered by the municipality. For this, the restoration project of the building, which is now closed, has been completed, but it still houses a theater company.
The property belonged to the Union, but was provisionally ceded to Imbituba, which awaits final transfer. At the end of the 1980s, the place even included the Porto Museum and the City of Imbituba.
According to the director of Culture of the municipality, Paulo Armando, after approval of the project by the City Council begins the fundraising phase. But the bill will also guide how the municipality can invest in the structure, such as maintenance costs, for example. The city government plans to seek support at the state and federal levels. "Private initiative has not been thought of yet, but it is a possibility to be discussed," says Armando.
If there is no delay in raising such resources, the first stage of the project, at least, can be started later this year. The restoration provides, for example, an area adjacent to the building for the installation of a coffee. The museum should also house a space for artistic presentations. In parallel to the implantation of the new attraction, the Environment sector of the municipality works in a recovery project of the neighboring Lagoa da Bomba.

Nesta segunda-feira (14-08) ocorre mais uma etapa de um processo que deve culminar na criação do Museu Histórico de Imbituba: a Câmara de Vereadores vota o projeto de lei de autoria do Executivo que permitirá a implantação do empreendimento.
O projeto do novo museu, que irá contar toda a história do município, está orçado em R$ 6 milhões, mas a ideia é de que suas instalações sejam construídas por etapas, para facilitar a busca pelos recursos.
O museu será implantado no antigo prédio de uma usina termelétrica, localizada no Centro, às margens da Lagoa da Bomba. Datada de 1917, a construção é histórica e tombada pelo município. Para isso já foi finalizado o projeto de restauro do prédio, que hoje está fechado, mas ainda assim abriga uma companhia de teatro.
O imóvel pertencia à União, mas foi cedido de maneira provisória para Imbituba, que aguarda a transferência definitiva. No final dos anos 1980, o local, inclusive, chegou a abrigar o Museu do Porto e da Cidade de Imbituba.
De acordo com o diretor de Cultura do município, Paulo Armando, após a aprovação do projeto pela Câmara de Vereadores começa a fase de captação dos recursos. Mas o projeto de lei também vai orientar de que forma o município poderá investir na estrutura, como nos custos com manutenção, por exemplo. A prefeitura planeja buscar apoio nas esferas estaduais e federais. “Iniciativa privada ainda não foi pensada, mas é uma possibilidade a ser discutida”, comenta Armando.
Se não houver demora a angariar tais recursos, a primeira etapa do projeto, pelo menos, pode ser iniciada ainda este ano. O restauro prevê, por exemplo, uma área anexa ao prédio para a instalação de um café. O museu deve abrigar também um espaço para apresentações artísticas. Em paralelo à implantação do novo atrativo, o setor de Meio Ambiente do município trabalha em um projeto de recuperação da vizinha Lagoa da Bomba.
