Nikolai Pirogov's Memorial Museum in Vinnytsia. --

Nickolay Ivanovich Pirogov (1810-1881), the prominent Russian scientist, surgeon, educator and public figure spent the last years of his life in a charming spot of Vishnya (the Cherry-tree) near Vinnytsya (it is an urban district of the town now).

In 1866 he built a house, a pharmacy and a small hospital, where he rendered medical assistance to inhabitants.

In 1947 (9.09) here the Pirogov's Estate Museum was opened there.

The museum comprises a house, a pharmacy, and the family vault, where lies Pirogov's embalmed body.

A splendid park covers an area of 16 hectares of the estate. There are many trees planted by Pirogov himself there.

The museum's exposition occupies 10 halls of the main building, the Gallery and six rooms of a private pharmacy. There are some 16500 exhibits in the museum.

More than 1500 of them are on display These are manuscripts, photographs, private belongings, surgical instruments, paintings, sculptures, printed works, etc.

In the library there are 7000 books and magazines, including a large number of Pirogov's works, the majority of which are rarities about his scientific life and activity. The literature concerns the history of medicine.

The museum enjoys great popularity not only in our country but also abroad. The number of visitors, including foreign visitors, has already exceeded six million.

On one of the walls a marble plaque reads: «N.I. Pirogov lived here from 1866 to 1881». The surgeon's bust by the sculptor Krestovsky is erected in one of the allies of the park.

The exhibits of the museum depict chronologically the scientist's life and activity.

Микола Іванович Пирогов (1810-1881), видатний російський учений, хірург, педагог і громадський діяч провів останні роки свого життя в чарівному місці Вишні (Черрі-дерева) біля Вінниці (це міський округ місто в даний час).

У 1866 році він побудував будинок, аптеку і невелику лікарню, де він надав медичну допомогу жителям.

У 1947 році (9,09) тут було відкрито Музей-садиба Пирогова.

Музей включає в себе будинок, аптека, і усипальниця, де лежить забальзамоване тіло Пирогова.

Прекрасний парк займає площу в 16 гектарів садиби. Є багато дерев, посаджені себе там Пирогова.

Експозиція музею займає 10 залів головної будівлі, галерея і шість номерів приватній аптеці. Є деякі 16500 експонатів у музеї.

Більше 1500 з них знаходяться на дисплеї Ці рукописи, фотографії, особисті речі, хірургічні інструменти, картини, скульптури, твори друку, і т.д.

В бібліотеці є +7000 книг і журналів, в тому числі велика кількість робіт, Пирогова, більшість з яких є раритетами про його наукову життя і діяльності. У літературі стосується історії медицини.

Музей користується великою популярністю не тільки в нашій країні, але і за кордоном. Число відвідувачів, у тому числі іноземних туристів, вже перевищила шість мільйонів.

На одній зі стін мармурова дошка свідчить: «Н.І. Пирогов жив тут з 1866 по 1881 ». Бюст хірурга скульптором Крестовському острові зводиться в одному із союзників парку.

Експонати музею відображають у хронологічному порядку життя і діяльність вченого.
