O bloco Filhos de Gandhy, um dos mais tradicionais do Carnaval de Salvador, acabou de desfilar nesta segunda-feira no circuito Barra-Ondina. Como sempre, emocionou com suas roupas típicas, batuque contagiante e muita água de cheiro. Este ano, o bloco faz 67 anos e é tido com o maior Afoxé do Brasil, isto é, um candomblé de rua que sai durante o Carnaval, e conta com mais de 10 mil integrantes.
Filhos de Gandhy é constituido apenas por homens, e é inspirado nos princípios da não violência e da paz de Mahatma Gandhi, por isso seu nome. Detalhe: é proibido tomar bebidas alcoólicas durante o cortejo, seguindo os ideais de paz que inspiraram a criação do bloco.
Os membros vestem lençóis e toalhas brancos como fantasia, para simbolizar as vestes indianas, e as tradicionais cores azul e branco simbolizam os orixás Oxalufon e Ogum, respectivamente. Os colares são outro detalhe interessante da roupa, e suas contas são consideradas amuletos da sorte. Mas uma das coisas mais legal dos Filhos de Gandhy é a tradição do selinho: eles trocam colares por beijos. Quem não queria ser laçado por um deles, não é mesmo?
