O restauro do Palácio Laranjeiras, que se desenvolve desde 2012 com recursos da Petrobras e outras empresas, acabou por revelar a única autoria, entre as pinturas do acervo do palacete, que ainda era desconhecida de historiadores e público.
A assinatura do autor da marouflage (pintura em tecido) O Triunfo de Apolo, fixada no teto do Salão Império, de 155 metros quadrados, foi desvendada depois que os técnicos subiram andaimes para começar o trabalho de restauro da tela.
Durante o planejamento para a execução da obra, a equipe de conservação da Secretaria da Casa Civil, responsável pela supervisão dos trabalhos, consultou a literatura disponível (dois livros, um de 1982 e outro de 2008) e não encontrou a autoria do teto do Salão Império.
A assinatura de A. Karbowsky só foi conhecida depois que a equipe consultou o livro de encomendas da Maison Bettenfeld, empresa francesa contratada pela família Guinle para fazer a decoração dos interiores do palacete. Lá está o inventário das obras decorativas que revestem tetos, paredes e pisos do Laranjeiras. A confirmação veio quando os técnicos começaram as obras de restauro da pintura, e descortinaram a assinatura do artista na borda da tela, que estava esmaecida pelo tempo.
Visitação
O espaço será aberto à visitação pública, no primeiro trimestre de 2017. Além da Petrobras, outras 12 empresas custearam as obras do Palácio Laranjeiras: Ambev, Bradesco, Bradesco Seguros, Cedae, CSN Energia, Gás Natural Fenosa / CEG Rio, Eletrobras Furnas, Light, MRS Logística, Instituto CCR, EDF Norte Fluminense e Vale.
