Uma chance de ver no sul da Flórida gravuras assinadas por mestres da pintura, como Picasso, Dalí e Rembrandt. A plataforma para permitir essa viagem artística pelos desenhos de alguns dos maiores nomes da pintura no mundo é o museu NSU Art Museum, em Fort Lauderdale. A instituição abriga atualmente a mostra “Four Centuries of Prints From Rembrandt to Picasso: Drs. Walter and Mildred Padow Collection”. A exposição leva ao publico o acervo amealhado ao longo de meio século por um casal de colecionadores de arte residentes de Plantation, no sul da Flórida. O acervo de Walter e Mildred Padow inclui 107 gravuras assinadas por nomes icônicos das artes, incluindo pintores europeus e americanos —indo dos desenhos religiosos de Albrecht Durer ao traço abstrato de Joan Miro.

Ao jornal “Sun Sentinel”, os Padow contam que a coleção que possuem começou por acaso. O ano era 1964, e o casal deu de cara com um maço de gravuras assinadas por Chagall em uma loja de departamentos da Filadélfia. As gravuras eram numeradas à mão e assinadas pelos artistas. À época, pagaram $100 pelas obras. Hoje, elas valem muito mais e estrelam mostras de importantes museus.
