É inaugurada amanhã, às 18h30, no Museu de Arte de Macau, a exposição “Geometria do Universo: 3D e Multimédia de Akin Vong”, inserida na Montra de Arte de Macau. A iniciativa, do Instituto Cultural (IC), realiza-se no território desde 2012, e tem como objetivo incentivar a criação artística e promover o desenvolvimento da arte contemporânea local.

Natural de Macau, o ilustrador Akin Vong trabalha “em suportes tradicionais mas também em animação, imagem digital, além de design de iluminação e design de exposições temáticas para grandes superfícies comerciais”, esclarece o IC, em comunicado. Às diferentes áreas de actuação juntam-se os prémios já arrecadados pelo artista, onde figuram o Prémio de Pintura e de Escultura do Concurso Anual de Arte da Fundação Phillippe Charriol, e a atribuição de várias bolsas, “que lhe permitiram fazer visitas de estudo à Europa e aos Estados Unidos”. Akin Vong integrou ainda, em 2011, o Top Ten do Prémio dos Melhores Designers de Hong Kong, refere ainda o IC.

No trabalho agora apresentado, Vong “combinou elementos geométricos básicos com o tempo, o ritmo, os padrões, os tamanhos, os ângulos e os matizes, para criar imagens infinitas nestas obras. No mundo geométrico o artista vê um universo infinito, que evoluiu de um ponto para uma linha, um plano, um cubo. Ele acha que o universo é infinito! Numa simples gota de água do oceano abundam criaturas microscópicas. Uma pessoa pode ser muito pequena ou muito grande, depende da perspectiva. A exposição apresenta-se ao público até 25 de Setembro. O bilhete tem um preço de cinco patacas, com entrada livre aos domingos e feriados.
