Elvis Presley sonhava com a construção de uma casa de hóspedes em sua propriedade Graceland, para os amigos que o visitavam em Memphis. Presley não chegou a ver seu sonho realizado, mas seus fãs poderão ver.

A "Guest House", em Graceland, será um hotel de seis andares, com 450 quartos e vai abrir as portas no dia 27 de outubro. O exterior, com colunas, arcos e um pórtico, evoca a sensação de uma casa colonial confortável típica do Sul dos EUA, mas o design do interior e as instalações são modernas.

Presley morreu no dia 16 de agosto de 1977 e Graceland se transformou em um museu cinco anos depois. Priscilla Presley, ex-mulher do cantor e que cuida de seu legado, afirma que cantor tinha feito planos para construir uma casa de hóspedes no local ainda em 1960.

"Este hotel de luxo é a melhoria mais significativa para Graceland desde que abriu em 1982", afirma Priscilla.

Cores associadas ao Rei

Quando o hotel abrir, os preços dos quartos irão desde US$ 149, para suítes básicas, até US$ 1.300, para a suíte mais cara. A localização permite que os fãs de Elvis fiquem a uma curta distância de Graceland e as demais atrações turísticas de toda a rua.

O hotel ainda está em construção, mas as cores associadas com o rei já estão presentes, com muito ouro. Tapetes e corredores têm toques de roxo e ouro, assim como a iluminação no teatro de 464 lugares. Imagens de Elvis estarão penduradas nos quartos.

O lobby circular será iluminado por luz natural através de grandes janelas. O teto do átrio dispõe de espelhos em forma de hexágonos alongados. O tapete cinza e roxo é decorado com um padrão geométrico.

O Lobby Lounge é o nome do restaurante do local, com mesas internas e ao ar livre. Há também um bar, o E.P. Bar and Grill. Do lobby, será possível chegar a outro restaurante, que contará com produtos de origem local e um buffet de café da manhã.

A propriedade também inclui uma piscina, aumentando a sensação de "resort".
