From next year, many will have reasons to cite its name in Brazil: the State Pinacoteca promotes in 2018 a great retrospective of the painter who, at the turn of the 19th century to the 20th, signed non-figurative compositions long before Kandinski, Mondrian and Malevitch. Among the programmed exhibits, revealed by the director of the Pinacoteca, Jochen Volz, is the international exhibition Radical Women: Latin American Art, 1960-1985 ', organized by the Hammer Museum of Los Angeles (Radical Women: Latin American Art, 1960-1985) , which passes through the Brooklin Museum in New York before disembarking in São Paulo.
Still at the end of 2018, in December, another great artist, the Paulistana, Paulina, will be honored with an individual show. Before, in August, Valeska Soares won her first institutional individual in the country since 2004, within the career review program of active artists since the 1980s.

Two other women artists will occupy with facilities the Octagon of the Pinacoteca in Luz, the paulistana Ana Luiza D. Batista and the miner Laura Lima with a specific site. Anyway, 2018 will be the year of the women in the Pinacoteca, although great men artists also integrate programming. Nassar became known for references to popular culture in his painting, evoking the vibrant colors of the stalls and geometric shapes of the homes of his native land. Another reference adopted by Nassar is the flag, which he uses as a pretext for painting (he appropriated the 143 flags of the municipalities of Pará). Also in the Pina Estação is the show "Myth of Origin", which starts with a work by the German Lothar Baumgarten, to address fictions around the ground zero of life on the planet.
There is much more. However, the most anticipated exhibition is even from Sweden's Hilma Klint, an artist beyond her time. Friend of Expressionist Edvard Munch, Hilma went the other way. And he paid dearly for it, being absent from the historic canon. In part, by the artist's own decision.
