O Estado do Piauí, Brasil, possui diversas comunidades indígenas, que ainda hoje mantém viva suas tradições. Para registrar e dar visibilidade a esses povos, o Museu do Piauí recebe, nesta quarta-feira (20), a partir das 10h30, a palestra do historiador e antropólogo Alexandre Gomes, doutorando da Universidade Federal de Pernambuco.
A palestra “Um diálogo sobre os museus comunitários e memórias indígenas na América Latina” é fruto da pesquisa de doutorado do antropólogo sobre os contextos em que surgem museus indígenas, tanto no Brasil como na América Latina.
Na palestra, também será abordada a pesquisa etnográfica e registro sobre a comunidade Nazaré, do Povo Tabajara e Tapuio-Itamaraty, localizada na zona rural do município de Lagoa de São Francisco. O trabalho parte do projeto de registro e documentação das culturas indígenas, desenvolvido pelo Museu do Índio da Funai (Rio de Janeiro, Brasil).
O objetivo da pesquisa na comunidade Nazaré é planejar as ações de caráter colaborativo que resultará em um levantamento etnográfico com destaque para as matérias-primas utilizadas. As técnicas de produção, os principais produtores, os conhecimentos e saberes, os espaços de produção e os locais de extração de recursos no território, entre outras informações, efetuando o registro fotográfico e audiovisual do processo de pesquisa e dos atores sociais envolvidos.
“Hoje, no Piauí, os Tabajaras têm um museu indígena independente, feito com recursos próprios e a nossa passagem pela comunidade é justamente para pautar essa discussão de forma mais direta. Nós vamos trazer de forma mais sistemática essa discussão que tem sido feita a nível de América Latina para o Piauí, enfatizando esse protagonismo indígena”, afirma Alexandre Gomes.
Além da pesquisa propriamente dita, o registro etnográfico e a documentação dos processos técnicos, formarão uma coleção de objetos para o Museu do Índio e atuará no fortalecimento do museu indígena da comunidade, ao contribuir na formação dos indígenas em pesquisa e gestão museológica, como parte da pesquisa colaborativa.
