April 14, 2017 in the "Sholokhov-Center" Museum-Reserve MA. Sholokhov will start the exhibition "Not only poems poetry ...", presented by the State Memorial and Natural Museum-Reserve IS. Turgenev "Spasskoe-Lutovinovo" and dedicated to the life and work of the great Russian writer.
The exhibition will feature editions of works by I.S. Turgenev of different years, including lifetime, photographs, objects of the XIX-early XX centuries, works by artists from different eras.
A large section is devoted to the writer's favorite hobby: hunting. Turgenev said: "In general, hunting is peculiar to the Russian people: give the peasant a gun, even ropes tied, and a handful of gunpowder, and he will wander in some bast shoes, swamps, and through the woods, from morning till night." And Ivan Sergeevich himself, being a famous writer, was no less famous hunter. He knew the best hunting grounds not only in Russia, but also in Europe. The map of Turgenev's hunting travels extends from Spassky-Lutovinov and Lgov to Kurtavnel and Belfontaine, Baden-Baden and Karlsruhe, New Market and Pitlochry. Polina Viardo, recalling her first acquaintance with Turgenev, said: "I was introduced to him with the words:" This is a young Russian landowner, a glorious hunter and a bad poet ". Ivan Sergeyevich himself believed that "hunting in human life, in the history of mankind, is not the last place".
The exposition presents a unique collection of engravings, lithographs, drawings, works of decorative and applied art, works by Russian, English, French, German masters of the 18th - first half of the 19th centuries devoted to depicting the topic of hunting - a rather rare direction in art.
Unusual illustrations by E.M. Böhm, who started his work during the writer's lifetime, in 1883. Turgenev very much appreciated those of her drawings, which he had time to see. In 1884, after the death of IS. Turgenev, P.Viardo wrote to the artist: "A thousand thanks, Madame, for the amazing silhouettes that you were kind enough to send me. This is a very remarkable and very valuable work, because it inspired the works of our forever unforgettable Ivan Turgenev. " The exhibition presents the original silhouette to the story "Rendezvous".
Visitors to the exhibition will see illustrations to the "Notes of the Hunter" by artists of the 20th century: a proof impression of the cover of the work of B.M. Kustodieva to the book IS. Turgenev's "Singers" (1926), the work of V.V. Tokarev, N.A. Ustinova, I.S. Kuskova, made in a different manner and technique (coal, ink, pencil, watercolor).
One of the sections is devoted to illustrations for the novels of Igor Turgenev "The Noble Nest", "On the Eve", "Fathers and Sons", novels "Mumu", "Punin and Baburin", "Asya", performed by KI. Rudakov, V.V. Domogatsky, B.D. Borovsky, B.A. Almedingen, etc. The works are distinguished by a variety of subjects: portraits of Turgenev's heroes, reproduction of individual scenes, episodes, as well as philosophical perception by the artists of the writer's work.
Landscapes of artists Leonid and Andrei Kurnakov, G.V. Dyshlenko, V.A. Dudchenko, Yu.V. Zhigalova, Yu.A. Kozlenkova, S.I. Prokopov and others convey the beauty, the unique charm of the middle zone of Russia - Spassky-Lutovinov and its environs, Turgenev's sites of the Orel and Tula regions - Bezhin meadow and the village of Turgenev, Crimson water and the Petrovsky farmstead. Artists do not illustrate Turgenev, they simply admire the same places, the same beauty that inspired and the great writer. Many of the works presented at the exhibition, such as the landscapes of VA. Dudchenko, who captured Spasskoe-Lutovinovo in the 1940s-1950s, today also acquired a great historical value.

A cultura e o amor devem estar juntos.
Vamos compartilhar.
Culture is not what enters the eyes and ears,
but what modifies the way of looking and hearing.
