Felting training at the museum-felt workshop.

The profession of "feutrier" was recently recognized as a "profession of art", a major official recognition for these men and women who, says Christophe Deutsch-Dumolin, the head of the Mouzon Felt Museum, "create exceptional works at the crossroads of the beautiful and the useful ".

The felt museum will be part of this dynamic in 2018. "Not only" museum "but" museum-workshop ", he says. It is a gesture and a sensitivity before anything else that we have the ambition to highlight. And working on the transmission of knowledge is essential for the future of museums. "

The training cycles of the hat museum-workshop are its main source of funding, and the courses organized for the European Wool Days in Felletin are always complete.

"The museum-felt workshop should take its place and offer in-depth courses in felting. We would like to set up an extensive training cycle in wool felting. "

Véronique Corman is a belgian felter from the Orval region that offers successful felting courses in Gaume. "We have already worked with her on the exhibition" slippers and felt slippers ". She would propose an afternoon of training every two months, four courses: creation of felt jewelery; felt slippers; hats; and bags. "

Of course, these courses can only take place if a minimum number of people are interested.

A cultura e o amor devem estar juntos.
Vamos compartilhar.

Culture is not what enters the eyes and ears,
but what modifies the way of looking and hearing.
