Figurine of Anzu (equivalent to the god Ningurso of Sumerian mythology, a sacred deity in southern Mesopotamia) is represented as a hybrid mythological being, with the head of a lion and the body of a fish-eagle. Made of gold and lapis lazuli, belonging to the Treasury of Ur. III millennium BC. (3000-2000 BC). Measures 11.8cm x 12.8cm. It was discovered in 1965, in the finds made during the excavation of the Necropolis of Ur, hidden in a ceramic container, in one of the hypostyle rooms of the royal palace of King Zimri Lim, of the first royal dynasty and founder of Mari: a millenary city. (inhabited since the 5th millennium BC) in the west of the Euphrates River, in present-day Tell Hariri (Syria).
Considered one of the most important pieces of the Treasure of Ur, it provided evidence of the wealth achieved by Sumer, as a center of culture of the Bronze Age in Lower Mesopotamia. It constituted a gift, from the king of Ur of the kingdom of the Lower Euphrates, to the king of Mari.

A estatueta de Anzu (equivalente ao deus Ningurso da mitologia suméria, divindade sagrada no sul da Mesopotâmia) é representada como um ser mitológico híbrido, com cabeça de leão e corpo de águia-pescadora. Fabricado em ouro e lápis-lazúli, pertencente ao Tesouro de Ur. III milénio a.C.. (3.000-2.000 aC). Mede 11,8 cm x 12,8 cm. Foi descoberto em 1965, nos achados feitos durante a escavação da Necrópole de Ur, escondida num recipiente de cerâmica, numa das salas hipostilas do palácio real do rei Zimri Lim, da primeira dinastia real e fundador de Mari: uma cidade milenar (habitada desde o V milênio a.C.) a oeste do rio Eufrates, na atual Tell Hariri (Síria).
Considerada uma das peças mais importantes do Tesouro de Ur, comprovou a riqueza alcançada pela Suméria, como centro de cultura da Idade do Bronze na Baixa Mesopotâmia. Foi um presente do rei de Ur, do reino do Baixo Eufrates, ao rei de Mari.
