Иоасафовский участок является частью земельных владений, которые называют, Русской Палестиной.

К 2010г. завершено строительство российского центра в рамках музейно-паркового комплекса.

Благоустроенная территория комплекса, комфортные места для отдыха и кафе - дают возможность посетителям без спешки насладиться красотой парка, прикоснуться к историческим местам.

На месте раскопок найдены уникальные артефакты, с которыми можно ознакомиться в российском центре музея.

Ученым удалось обнаружить комплекс византийских построек, в частности, уникальные многоцветные мозаики, множество монет.

Было найдено около 200 монет, в основном византийских, начиная со 2 века. Некоторые из этих монет, в частности серебряных, потом пришли на Русь. Таким образом прослеживается ниточка, связывающая культуру Святой Византии со Святой Русью.

"Почему важно изучать Палестину, зачем мы так далеко едем? Надо понимать, что корни Святой Руси уходят в историю Византии, невозможно понять историю Руси, не зная истории Византии" (доктор исторических наук, Беляев Леонид Андреевич)

Безусловно, сердцем участка является старая сикомора (библейская смоковница, дерево Закхея), почитаемая как свидетельство евангельского рассказа о приходе в город Иисуса Христа и его встрече с мытарем Закхеем.

Проведены все оздоровительные мероприятия по спасению смоковницы и установлению инженерной системы для капельного орошения древнего дерева.

8 апреля 2010 года капсулу для потомков в фундамент комплекса заложил Управляющий делами Президента Российской Федерации В. И. Кожин.

Укрепление русского духовного и культурного присутствия в Святой Земле является историческим событием возвращения России в Библейский регион, к которому с трепетом и благоговением всегда относились и сейчас относятся русские люди.
