Seus jardins geométricos e a estufa de três abóbadas tornaram-se um dos principais cartões postais de Curitiba.

A estufa abriga plantas características da floresta atlântica do Brasil. Sua arquitetura, em estrutura metálica e estilo art-noveau, foi inspirada em um palácio de cristal que existiu em Londres, no século 19.

O Jardim Botânico conta ainda com o Museu Botânico Municipal, trilhas em bosque de araucárias, lago, quadras esportivas e um velódromo. Em volta da estufa está o espaço cultural Frans Krajcberg com exposição permanente de 114 esculturas do artista e ambientalista.

A sua área contém aproximadamente 245 mil m², com diversas espécies de vegetais nacionais e internacionais, cultivadas em alamedas ao ar livre ou em estufas com estruturas de ferro e vidro, principal ponto do parque e que foi inspirada no Palácio de Cristal de Londres.

Logo atrás da estufa principal encontra-se o Espaço Cultural Frans Kajberg, com a exposição “A Revolta”, feita pelo próprio artista, que expressa através das obras a sua revolta com o descuido e abandono da fauna e flora brasileira. Nessa galeria estão expostas 110 obras de grande porte, que foram confeccionadas com restos de árvores queimadas e derrubadas de forma ilícita.

As flores e espécies vegetais são os principais atrativos do Jardim Botânico de Curitiba. Dentro do seu complexo encontra-se o “Jardim das Sensações”, uma área de aproximadamente 200m de extensão, onde o visitante percorre de olhos vendados, sentindo o chão com os pés descalços, ouvindo o som do vento e das cascatas e aspirando o perfume das flores.
