Как сообщает интернет-портал Ermenihaber, в Турции, в вилайете Текирдаг (историческое Родосто) в районе Мелкара во время дорожно- строительных работ были обнаружены восемь армянских хачкаров- надгробий.
Помощник руководителя округа Малкара Ахмед Назиф Балджэн сообщил, что на восьми найденных хачкарах обнаружены армянские надписи.
«Может, таких надгробий много, мы не знаем, - поделился он с репортерами. - В районе продолжаются строительные работы. Когда они будут завершены, все обнаруженные хачкары мы передадим в «Палату искусств» - заключил Балджэн.
Находка для нас особенно интересна тем, что вилайет Текирдаг входит состав исторической Восточной Фракии, т.е. европейских земель Турции, составляющих 5% ее территорий. В античное время Фракия была завоевана Римской империей (легендарный гладиатор Спартак был родом из Фракии), затем входила в состав Византийской империи.
Сегодня земли исторической Фракии входят в состав Болгарии, Румынии и Турции. Окончательно в составе Турецкой империи Фракия, в основном заселенная славянами и греками, закрепилась только в XIV- XV вв, а земли т. н. Восточной Фракии остались в составе Турции после Лозаннского договора 1922 года.
