A Feira Nacional do Cavalo/Feira de S. Martinho começa esta sexta-feira na Golegã, oferecendo ao longo de dez dias provas de todas as disciplinas equestres, num evento que transforma a pequena vila “num local único no mundo”.
Rui Medinas, presidente da Câmara Municipal da Golegã e da Feira Nacional do Cavalo, diz que a dinâmica gerada pelo Centro de Alto Rendimento para Desportos Equestres, inaugurado em 2013, não desvirtuou o “desfile de tradições, história, identidade e raízes que vêm de há séculos” e que são tão “marcantes” durante a feira no Largo do Arneiro. Nela cruzam-se cavaleiros e amazonas, num ambiente marcado pela presença de vendedores de artigos associados ao cavalo, das tasquinhas instaladas em garagens e quintais e pelo cheiro da castanha assada.
O certame deste ano -- que junta a 41.ª Feira Nacional do Cavalo e a 18.ª Feira Internacional do Cavalo Lusitano à centenária Feira de S. Martinho -- decorre sob o título de primeira “cidade europeia do cavalo”, instituída pela Rede EuroEquus, testemunho que será passado à cidade belga de Waregem (para o ano de 2017) durante um espectáculo equestre agendado para a noite de quinta-feira dia 10.
No âmbito dos compromissos assumidos na rede que integra cinco cidades europeias -- Golegã, Waregem, Jerez de La Frontera (Espanha), Parduvice (Republica Checa) e Wroclaw (Polónia) -, o município tem procurado dar “mais visibilidade ao cavalo, à fileira e a realizações equestres”, afirma Rui Medinas.
É nesse âmbito que será inaugurada no sábado uma exposição de antevisão do Museu Nacional do Cavalo, uma iniciativa da Associação de Promoção e Desenvolvimento Turístico e Cultural da Golegã (que reúne personalidades como o presidente do Conselho Europeu de Museus e diretores de outros museus, como o dos Coches ou o Militar) em parceria com a Câmara e que ficará instalada no Palácio do Pelourinho.
Rui Medinas explica que o projeto para o museu, um investimento da ordem dos 1,2 milhões de euros, foi já submetido a uma candidatura a fundos comunitários, devendo a contrapartida nacional ser repartida entre o município e privados.
Rui Medinas afirma que a Feira da Golegã associa as dimensões artística, cultural, desportiva e científica do mundo equestre às vertentes turística e económica, realçando o crescente número de estrangeiros que visitam a vila nesta altura do ano também com o objetivo de aqui adquirirem cavalos Puro-Sangue-Lusitano.
Durante a feira estará disponível para subscrição a petição lançada na I Feira do Cavalo de Lisboa, por ocasião do Dia Europeu do Cavalo, que se assinala a 13 de Setembro, para que seja instituído o Dia Nacional do Cavalo a 11 de Novembro, dia de S. Martinho.
O certame contará com a visita do ministro da Agricultura na sexta-feira, dia 11, participando Capoulas Santos no lançamento do projecto de emparcelamento rural, cuja obra deverá iniciar-se em 2017, e na cerimónia que assinala os 30 anos da Agrotejo, União Agrícola do Norte do Vale do Tejo, esperando a organização confirmação da presença do Presidente da República no dia 12.
