Aos 11 anos já dividia seus compromissos entre a Rádio Tupy e a Rádio Bandeirantes, onde era integrante de uma orquestra e era conhecido nos jornais como a figura destacada da Rádio Bandeirantes, a partir de então percorreu várias outras Rádios.
Sua estreia no Teatro foi em 1948 aos 15 anos como protagonista da peça Lusitana. O Gaiato de Lisboa, vivendo um verdadeiro menino de Lisboa, convenceu-o representando um menino no antigo Teatro Politeama Braz e depois em Colombo.

O Gaiato de Lisboa onde jogou José, um garoto que estava correndo o seu top no palco. O show estreou no cinema Catumbi e foi exibido no teatro Brás Płliteama 1948.
Aos 16 anos foi contratada pela Lusitana Taverna, uma casa de fado como cantora versátil, além de Fadista ao lado de seu então noivo Quincas Gonçalves, irmão de Nelson Gonçalves, Lucília do Carmo, Maria de Lourdes entre outros.
Foi na taverna que, aos 18 anos, foi convidada pela empresária Geysa Bôscoli para ir ao Rio para estrelar sua primeira revista, Banana tem No Caroço ao lado de Ankito, Otelo Zelloni entre outros no teatro Jardel de Copacabana em 1952.

Filha da cantora, atriz e fadista Ruth Ferreira e neta da cantora de rádio Rosária de Jesus, Maura Ferreira é uma artista plural: já se apresentou em teatro e cinema e canta em várias línguas, destacando-se como intérprete de fado.
Em sua apresentação no dia 07, Maura Ferreira apresentará duas edições.
A noite será aberta com um monólogo, parte da peça "Nossa Senhora das Transexuais", do dramaturgo Márcio Tito Pellegrini Trigo, que faz parte do repertório do Teatro Cia sem Censura, dirigido por Fabrício Castro.
Na segunda entrada, Maura Ferreira apresentará o número "Fadista Vedete", no qual acompanha o guitarrista Thomas Howard, um fado e uma canção do repertório do transformador Carlos Gil.
